NWS Honolulu HI
Flash Flood Watch issued June 28 at 3:38AM HST until June 28 at 6:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* Kauai and Niihau.
* Through this afternoon
* Low pressure northwest of the islands will maintain an unstable
and very moist air mass over Kauai and Niihau, leading to
periods of heavy showers and thunderstorms into Friday. Abundant
rainfall has saturated the ground over both islands last night.
Any additional heavy rain could lead to flash flooding.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for flash
flooding. Flash flooding is LIFE THREATENING. Do not cross fast
flowing water in your vehicle or on foot.
Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action if a Flash
Flood Warning is issued. If you experience heavy rain or rising
water, head to higher ground immediately.

NWS Upton NY
Air Quality Alert issued June 28 at 9:47AM EDT by NWS Upton NY
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has
issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following counties...
Suffolk...Nassau...Richmond...Kings...Queens...New York...Bronx...
Westchester...Rockland.
Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an
air quality index value of 100 for ozone.
The air quality index...or AQI...was created as an easy way to correlate
levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the AQI value, the
greater the health concern.
When pollution levels are elevated...the New York State Department of
Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor
physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People
who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of
pollutants include the very young and those with pre existing respiratory
problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider
consulting their personal physician.
For additional information, please visit the New York State Department of
Environmental Conservation website at, https://on.ny.gov/nyaqi, or call
the Air Quality Hotline at 800-535-1345.
