Flood Warning issued June 28 at 10:11AM EDT until July 2 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Indianapolis IN
Wabash River...White River...
.Flooding continues in southwestern Indiana from our recent rainy
weather. Some areas have seen rainfall amounts in excess of 10
inches this month.
Moderate flooding on the lower portions of the Wabash and White
rivers will last as long as the end of the month, with minor
flooding lasting as long as July 2.
Little to no rainfall is expected through this weekend, thus rivers
will continue to recede.
The Flood Warning continues for
The White River at Hazleton.
* until Tuesday evening.
* There have been no observations in the last 24 hours.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...It is forecast to crest at 23.5 feet this afternoon and
will fall below flood stage by Tuesday morning.
* At 24.0 feet...A flood of this height causes great agricultural
damage from June through August. Some river cabin residents
evacuate. Most local roads flood. Several oil fields are
inaccessible.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.
For detailed flood information go to weather.gov/ind on the web and
