NWS Fort Worth TX
Flash Flood Warning issued July 12 at 7:08PM CDT expiring July 12 at 8:15PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX
At 706 PM CDT, the storms across the warned area continue to weaken
but the threat for flash flooding continues even after the rain
ends. Estimates of up to three inches of rain have already fallen.
This rainfall will lead to excessive water runoff and cause flash
flooding. Low-lying areas are most vulnerable to rapidly rising
water. Some low-water crossings may flood and become impassable.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Ennis, Palmer, Italy, Bardwell, Alma and Garrett.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

NWS Kansas City/Pleasant HIll MO
Heat Advisory issued July 12 at 7:40PM CDT expiring July 13 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant HIll MO
* TEMPERATURE...High temperatures will rise into the mid to upper
90s with heat indices reaching 100 to 105 degrees again Friday
afternoon. In addition, low temperatures will fall only into the
mid to upper 70s tonight, providing little relief from the
daytime heat.
* IMPACTS...Heat illnesses are possible for those spending
prolonged time outdoors or those more susceptible to heat
illnesses, such as children and the elderly.
A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time
outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early
morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting
clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.

NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
Special Weather Statement issued July 12 at 8:46PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
At 846 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 5
miles north of Huntersville, or near Davidson. This storm was nearly
stationary.
Locations to be impacted include...
Cornelius, Davidson and Ramsey Creek Park.
Wind gusts up to 45 mph, half inch hail and torrential rainfall rates
up to 3 inches per hour will be possible in these areas.
Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage, such as
ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded
roads. Water levels of small streams may also rise rapidly. Seek
higher ground if threatened by flood waters.
Lake Norman is in the path of this storm. Cloud to ground
lightning and gusty winds will create dangerous boating conditions.
Move to shore immediately.

Heat Advisory issued July 12 at 7:48PM CDT expiring July 12 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Des Moines IA
Though still very uncomfortable, the hot conditions experienced
over much of the area today are diminishing this evening. If
outdoors this evening...maintain some heat awareness as humidity
levels remain quite high and extensive physical exertion may
still lead to minor heat illnesses.
.The heat advisory will expire at 8 pm this evening. Thunderstorm
chances and clouds will increase Friday...especially over the
northern half of Iowa...which should limit the extent of high
heat indices. Tomorrow afternoon may still see heat indices above
100 F in the afternoon in the southeast and this area will be
evaluated later tonight for a possible advisory tomorrow.

Flash Flood Watch issued July 12 at 5:52PM PDT expiring July 13 at 12:00AM PDT by NWS Las Vegas NV
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of northwest Arizona, southeast California, and
Nevada, including the following areas, in northwest Arizona,
Northwest Plateau. In southeast California, Death Valley
National Park. In Nevada, Esmeralda and Central Nye County,
Lincoln County, and Western Clark and Southern Nye County.
* Until midnight PDT /midnight MST/ tonight
* Conditions continue to be favorable for thunderstorms that
could produce flash flooding. Individual storms today could be
nearly stationary, those that do move will drift west at less
than 5 MPH. Storms will have the potential to produce rain
rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour, with locally heavier rates up
to 3 inches per hour.
* There is a strong potential for flooding of washes...streams
and other drainage areas in the watch area. Water may flow
through low water crossings and catch motorists off guard.
Flooding can occur several miles downstream of thunderstorm
activity.
If you are in the watch area...you should closely monitor weather
forecasts and be prepared to take immediate action should heavy
rain and flooding occur or a flash flood warning is issued.
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to
cross safely. Vehicles caught in rising water should be abandoned
quickly. If your vehicle stalls...abandon it and seek higher
ground immediately.
Listen to NOAA weather radio...commercial radio or television
stations for updates on this flash flood threat or by visiting us
