NWS St Louis MO
Heat Advisory issued July 12 at 8:40PM CDT expiring July 14 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS St Louis MO
* TIMING...Heat index values between 100 and 104 are expected
during the afternoon and early evening hours each day through
Saturday.
* HEAT INDEX VALUES...Up to 104 due to temperatures in the upper
90s, and dewpoints around 70.
* IMPACTS...The combination of hot temperatures and high
humidity will likely lead to an increased risk of heat-
related stress and illness. The very young, the elderly, those
without air conditioning, and those participating in strenuous
outdoor activities will be the most susceptible. Also, car
interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures and high
humidity will occur. This combination will create a situation in
which heat-related illnesses are possible, especially for those
living in un-air conditioned homes or apartments. People in the
Advisory area are advised to avoid poorly ventilated areas and
prolonged work in the sun. Also, keep plenty of liquids on hand
and try to stay in an air conditioned environment.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to the early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

NWS Albuquerque NM
Flood Advisory issued July 12 at 7:47PM MDT expiring July 12 at 9:45PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM
The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a
* Arroyo and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
East central Sandoval County in north central New Mexico...
* Until 945 PM MDT.
* At 744 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms from just east of Jemez Pueblo to near Kewa Pueblo.
The heaviest rainfall has fallen over Borrego Canyon where up to
an inch and a half of rain has already fallen. Arroyo and small
stream flooding is likely in the advisory area.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kewa Pueblo, Kewa Pueblo, Cochiti Pueblo, Cochiti Lake, Domingo,
Pena Blanca, Zia Pueblo, Ponderosa and San Felipe Pueblo.
Remember, ditches are deadly. A gentle flow of water can become a
raging torrent in a matter of minutes.
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.

Flood Advisory issued July 12 at 6:52PM MST expiring July 12 at 9:45PM MST by NWS Tucson AZ
The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a
* Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
South central Graham County in southeastern Arizona...
* Until 945 PM MST.
* At 650 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding on
Mount Graham and downstream due to the Frye Burn scar.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Frye Mesa Dam and Mount Graham.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Move away from recently burned areas. Life threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry washes is likely. The heavy rains will
likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.
