The very young, the elderly, those without air conditioning, and those participating in strenuous outdoor activities will be the most susceptible. Also, car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in matter of minutes. A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions, if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency, call 9 1 1. http://www.weather.gov NWSheadline HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING VTEC /O.NEW.KMEG.HT.Y.0012.180713T1600Z-180714T0100Z/ PIL MEGNPWMEG BLOCKCHANNEL CMAS BLOCKCHANNEL EAS BLOCKCHANNEL NWEM eventEndingTime 2018-07-13T20:00:00-05:00 Cross; Randolph; Mississippi; St. Francis; Craighead; Clay; Greene; Poinsett; Crittenden; Lawrence UGC ARZ035 UGC ARZ008 UGC ARZ028 UGC ARZ048 UGC ARZ026 UGC ARZ009 UGC ARZ018 UGC ARZ027 UGC ARZ036 UGC ARZ017 SAME 005037 SAME 005121 SAME 005093 SAME 005123 SAME 005031 SAME 005021 SAME 005055 SAME 005111 SAME 005035 SAME 005075
