Heat Advisory issued July 13 at 4:10AM CDT expiring July 14 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS St Louis MO
* TIMING...Heat index values between 100 and 105 are expected
during the afternoon and early evening hours each day through
Saturday.
* HEAT INDEX VALUES...Up to 105 due to temperatures in the upper
90s, and dewpoints in the lower 70s.
* IMPACTS...The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during
outdoor exertion or extended exposure. The very young, the
elderly, those without air conditioning, and those
participating in strenuous outdoor activities will be the most
susceptible. Also, car interiors can reach lethal temperatures
in a matter of minutes.
A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures and high
humidity will occur. This combination will create a situation in
which heat-related illnesses are possible, especially for those
living in un-air conditioned homes or apartments. People in the
Advisory area are advised to avoid poorly ventilated areas and
prolonged work in the sun. Also, keep plenty of liquids on hand
and try to stay in an air conditioned environment.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to the early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

conditioning. Heat stress is also possible for livestock and
outdoor pets.
* View the hazard area in detail at
https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mfr/HAZARD

NWS Jackson MS
Heat Advisory issued July 13 at 4:42AM CDT expiring July 13 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Jackson MS
The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Heat
Advisory, which is in effect from noon today to 7 PM CDT this
evening.
* TEMPERATURE...Temperatures today will climb into the low to mid
90s, with heat index values near 105 degrees possible for
several hours this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will lead to an increased risk of heat-related stress and
illness. The very young, the elderly, those without air
conditioning, and those participating in strenuous outdoor
activities will be the most susceptible.
Take extra precautions, if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible
and drink plenty of water.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the occupational safety and
health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency, call 9 1 1.
A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room,
stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Flash Flood Watch issued July 13 at 2:56AM PDT expiring July 13 at 10:00PM PDT by NWS Elko NV
The National Weather Service in Elko has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Nevada and south central
Nevada, including the following areas, in Nevada, White Pine
County. In south central Nevada, Northeastern Nye County and
Northwestern Nye County.
* From noon PDT today through this evening
* Abundant monsoon moisture remains across portions of central
and east-central Nevada. This combined with daytime heating
will result in afternoon showers and thunderstorms which could
produce locally heavy rain.
* Normally dry washes, canyons, and streams could experience flash
flooding. Additionally, burn scars and rugged terrain will also
be especially susceptible to debris or mud flows.
A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take
action should flash flood warnings be issued.
