Building high pressure will bring warming temperatures over the
weekend with daytime highs from 10 to as much as 15 degrees above
normal. The northern Sacramento valley could see high temperatures
as high as 110 degrees by Monday while overnight lows only cool
into the 70s.
The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a Heat
Advisory for the northern and central Sacramento valley and
surrounding foothills, which is in effect from noon Sunday to 8
PM PDT Monday.
* TEMPERATURE...Daytime highs Sunday and Monday from the upper 90s
in the foothills to near 110 northern Sacramento valley.
Overnight lows only dropping down in to the mid 70s.
* IMPACTS...Long outdoor exposure may increase chances for heat
related illness for sensitive groups such as children or the
elderly.
A Heat Advisory means that a prolonged period of hot temperatures
is expected and will create a situation in which heat illnesses
are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned
room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and
neighbors.

evening.
* LOCATIONS...South shore bays of Nassau County.
* TIDAL DEPARTURE...1 to 2 feet above normal.
* TIMING...Around the times of high tide this evening.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...There is a low threat of property
damage. Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerable
locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Expect around 1 to
2 feet of inundation above ground level in low lying, vulnerable
areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking
lots, parks, lawns and homes/businesses with basements near the
waterfront will experience shallow flooding.
A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
