Small Craft Advisory for Hazardous Seas issued July 13 at 7:20AM PDT expiring July 13 at 3:00PM PDT by NWS Seattle WA
The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a Small Craft
Advisory for hazardous seas...which is in effect until 3 PM PDT
this afternoon.
* SEAS...10 feet.
* DOMINANT PERIOD...9 seconds.
A Small Craft Advisory for hazardous seas means that waves are
expected to be hazardous to small craft. Mariners should avoid
shoaling areas. Long period swell can sharpen into large breaking
waves in shoaling areas. It is not unusual for waves to break
much farther from shoaling areas than is normally experienced.
Remember, breaking waves can easily capsize even larger vessels.

Red Flag Warning issued July 13 at 7:28AM PDT expiring July 13 at 11:00PM PDT by NWS Spokane WA
A dry cold front arriving this evening will result in gusty
winds and low relative humidity for the Kittitas and Wenatchee
Valleys from early afternoon through the evening hours. The front
will also deliver windy and dry conditions to the Okanogan Valley
and Waterville Plateau on Saturday.
The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 4 PM this afternoon to 11 PM PDT this evening.
* Affected Area: Fire Weather Zone 677 East Washington Central
Cascade Valleys (Zone 677).
* Winds: Northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* Relative Humidities: 12 to 18 percent.
* Impacts: Gusty winds and low relative humidity on dry fuels
will promote rapid fire spread.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Heat Advisory issued July 13 at 9:38AM CDT expiring July 13 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Huntsville AL
* LOCATIONS...Franklin AL, Colbert, Lauderdale and Lawrence
Counties.
* HEAT INDEX VALUES...Up to 108 degrees due to temperatures in the
low to mid 90s, and dewpoints in the mid 70s.
* TIMING...Noon today until 7 PM CDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during
outdoor exertion or extended exposure.
A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water. Check up on relatives and
neighbors. Absolutely do not leave children or pets unattended in
vehicles!
To reduce risk during outdoor work the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks
in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency, CALL 911.

NWS Newport/Morehead City NC
Coastal Flood Advisory issued July 13 at 10:54AM EDT expiring July 13 at 11:00PM EDT by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC
Long period swells from the remnants of Beryl combined with high
astronomical tides will continue to bring a risk of strong rip
currents today. Minor coastal flooding will be possible for areas
adjacent to the ocean north of Cape Hatteras during high tide
this evening.
* HAZARDS...A high risk of rip currents and minor coastal
flooding.
* LOCATIONS...The beaches north of Cape Hatteras.
* TIMING AND TIDES...The most likely time for strong rip
currents to occur is a couple hours either side of low tide,
which will occur around 2 pm today.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Minor flooding of 1 foot above ground
level during high tide.
If caught in a rip current remain calm. Don't fight the current.
Swim in a direction following the shoreline. When out of the
current, swim back to shore. If tired, float or tread water until
out of the rip current. If unable to escape, face the shore and
call or wave for help.
A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
