NWS Duluth MN
Wind Chill Advisory issued February 7 at 10:04PM CST expiring February 8 at 12:00PM CST by NWS Duluth MN
Falling temperatures tonight will lead to dangerously cold wind
chills, especially in north central Minnesota.
* WHAT...Very cold wind chills expected. Wind chills around 25 to
35 below zero expected.
* WHERE...Bayfield, Ashland, Iron, Sawyer and Price Counties.
* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until midnight CST
tonight. For the Wind Chill Advisory, from midnight tonight to
noon CST Friday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. The
hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. The
cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as
little as 30 minutes.
A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.
A Wind Chill Advisory is issued when the combination of wind and
cold air create very cold wind chills. Frostbite and hypothermia,
which can lead to death, can occur if steps are not taken to
protect yourself. Cover up. Dress warmly and in layers. Travel
with extra blankets or additional clothing in case of vehicle
trouble.
The latest road conditions for Minnesota can be found at
511mn.org, and for Wisconsin at 511wi.gov, or by calling 511 in
either state.

At 1121 PM EST, river levels remain elevated and with ice, water
levels are unpredictable. Rainfall has ended for the night and any
additional runoff will produce limited rises. But due to the ice
jam, residents near the river should closely monitor conditions.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Perrysburg, Waterville, and Maumee.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

NWS Blacksburg VA
Dense Fog Advisory issued February 7 at 11:39PM EST expiring February 8 at 2:00AM EST by NWS Blacksburg VA
Calm winds, 100 percent relative humidity, a shallow wedge of cool
air from the northeast, and wet ground in advance of a slow
moving cold front from the west have combined to result in the
formation of dense fog across parts of the James River basin into
northern and eastern Virginia. The dense fog is expected to
continue for a couple more hours before dissipating from the
southwest as winds increase and drier air begins to move into the
area from the west.
* Visibilities...Areas where visibilities are as low as 1/4 to 1/2
mile.
* Timing...Through 2 AM EST Friday.
* Impacts...Poor visibility.
* Locations...Ahmerst, Campbell, Appomattox, and Buckingham
Counties, including the City of Lynchburg
* Hazards...Poor driving conditions with severely restricted
visibilities and highly variable visibility from one location to
another.
A Dense Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving...slow down...
use your headlights...and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
