NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI
Special Weather Statement issued February 8 at 2:00PM EST by NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI
Localized snow squalls will continue to impact parts of southeast
Michigan this afternoon. Within these narrow bands of heavier snow
showers, visibilities will be reduced to under half a mile, as
westerly winds gusting between 30 and 40 mph also lead to blowing
snow. Motorists should be prepared for the rapid changes in
driving conditions and slow down, as the reduced visibilities and
coating of snow on the roads leads to hazardous travel in isolated
locations.

NWS Shreveport LA
Special Weather Statement issued February 8 at 1:47PM CST by NWS Shreveport LA
A wintry mix of rain, snow, and sleet will move eastward along and
just south fo the I-20 corridor. While air temperatures will be
near or below freezing, no travel impacts are anticipated due to
the light nature of precipitation and ground temperatures which
are well above freezing.
Later into the evening, an additional area of rain, snow, and
sleet may develop across East Texas and cross the I-20 and I-30
corridors. Most locales are not expected to experience travel
impacts, but the potential exists for embedded heavier bursts of
snow or sleet into the evening hours which could result in some
light accumulations on bridges and overpasses. The chance for
wintry precipitation will begin to decrease overnight tonight.

NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
Wind Advisory issued February 8 at 2:57PM EST expiring February 8 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
Much cooler air will continue to push in on gusty northwest winds
this afternoon, before diminishing this evening into tonight as
high pressure builds into the region. The strongest winds are
expected across higher elevations, peaking in strength later this
morning into the afternoon.
* LOCATIONS...Northern mountains of western North Carolina.
* HAZARDS...Frequent wind gusts, some of which could be strong
enough to knock down tree limbs and power lines.
* TIMING...Through 7 PM this evening.
* WINDS...Northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or your favorite source of
weather information for the latest updates. Additional details
can be found at www.weather.gov/gsp.
