NWS Spokane WA
Winter Weather Advisory issued February 8 at 2:59PM PST expiring February 9 at 1:00PM PST by NWS Spokane WA
Areas of snow will continue and become heavier tonight. The
heaviest snow tonight into Saturday will fall over central
Washington where 8 to 12 inches will be possible around Wenatchee,
Chelan, and Vantage. Gusty north winds on Saturday will likely
create areas of blowing and drifting snow. Some roads may become
impassable due to drifting snow in central and north central
Washington on Saturday. Localized Blizzard conditions will be
possible on the Waterville Plateau and the Columbia basin.
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4
inches expected. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE...Republic, Inchelium, Wauconda, Chesaw Road, Highway 20
Wauconda Summit, Boulder Creek Road, and Sherman Pass.
* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 1 PM PST Saturday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy
blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The
hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. The
cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite
on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads
and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can
be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
