NWS Tiyan GU
Flood Advisory issued February 23 at 4:57PM ChST expiring February 23 at 7:00PM ChST by NWS Tiyan GU
The National Weather Service in Tiyan Guam has issued a
* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Rota
* Until 700 PM ChST.
* At 457 PM ChST, Doppler radar indicated moderate to heavy rain
that will cause urban and small stream flooding.
1 to 2 inches of rain has already fallen. Additional rainfall of
2 to 4 inches is possible over the island. This additional rain
will result in minor flooding.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

Flood Watch issued February 23 at 2:30AM EST expiring February 24 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Morristown TN
Moderate to heavy rainfall continues to threaten as a slow
moving warm front traverses the region amidst a very moist
airmass. A cold front will move east tonight bringing additional
period of moderate to heavy rainfall. All said, additional
flooding is possible given already saturated ground and high
stream flows.
The Flood Watch is now in effect for
* Portions of Southwest North Carolina and East Tennessee,
including the following areas, in Southwest North Carolina,
Cherokee and Clay. In East Tennessee, Bledsoe, Blount Smoky
Mountains, Bradley, Cocke Smoky Mountains, East Polk,
Hamilton, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, NW
Blount, North Sevier, Northwest Cocke, Northwest Monroe, Rhea,
Roane, Sequatchie, Sevier Smoky Mountains, Southeast Greene,
Southeast Monroe, and West Polk.
* Through Sunday morning
* Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall will overspread the region
through early Sunday. Additional rainfall accumulation of
around 1-2 inches are possible.
* Given the already saturated soil and high stream flows, the
additional moderate to heavy rains will likely cause
significant stream flooding, roadway flooding, mud slides, and
main stem river flooding. Potentially life threatening
flooding is possible.
A Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for heavy
rain...which may lead to flooding in and near the watch area. Be
alert for rising water or water over roadways. Keep informed...
and be ready for action if flooding is observed or if a flood
warning is issued. If you come to a closed or flooded road...turn
around! Don't drown!

Flood Watch issued February 23 at 2:51AM EST expiring February 24 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Peachtree City GA
The Flood Watch has been extended for
* Portions of north central Georgia...northeast Georgia and
northwest Georgia...including the following areas...in north
central Georgia...Cherokee...Dawson...Fannin...Gilmer...
Lumpkin...Pickens and Union. In northeast Georgia...Towns and
White. In northwest Georgia...Bartow...Catoosa...Chattooga...
Dade...Floyd...Gordon...Murray...Walker and Whitfield.
* Through Sunday morning
* Soil conditions remain saturated and river levels remain high
across the area. The potential for locally heavy rainfall will
continue through tonight. Rainfall totals up to 1 inch, with
locally higher amounts possible in any stronger storms. This
amount of rainfall will produce significant runoff and
flooding of creeks and rivers.
* Periods of heavy rain can overwhelm or clog storm drains and
ditches with debris and cause extensive street flooding and
road ponding. Take time ahead of the rain to clear leaves and
debris from drainage systems. Due to the extremely saturated
soils, downed trees will be likely, even with sub severe
winds.
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

NWS Jackson MS
Flood Warning issued February 23 at 1:55AM CST expiring February 23 at 11:15AM CST by NWS Jackson MS
The National Weather Service in Jackson has extended the
* Flood Warning for...
Carroll County in north central Mississippi...
Grenada County in north central Mississippi...
Leflore County in north central Mississippi...
Montgomery County in north central Mississippi...
* Until 1115 AM CST Saturday.
* Over the past several days widespread rainfall amounts from eight
to eleven inches of rain have fallen over the area. Periods of
heavy rain from last night and yesterday have caused flash
flooding. In addition, many rivers and streams are high and may
lead to additional flooding of homes and roadways.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Greenwood, Grenada, Winona, Itta Bena, Black Hawk, Leflore,
Jefferson, Vaiden, Duck Hill, Kilmichael, Sidon, North Carrollton,
Gore Springs, Teoc, Malmaison, Minter City, Avalon, Quito, Lodi and
Poplar Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts up to an inch are possible through the
early morning hours as scattered showers and embedded thunderstorms
periodically redevelop over the warned area. Additional, heavier,
thunderstorms are possible Saturday afternoon that will bring
potential for another quick inch or two of rainfall to isolated
locations. Any further heavy rainfall will only worsen the high
water situation and numerous roads are already flooded or closed.
Standing water will continue across the warned area.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Flash Flood Warning issued February 23 at 1:59AM CST expiring February 23 at 6:30AM CST by NWS Huntsville AL
At 156 AM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the warned area. Between two
to three inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is
expected to begin shortly. Media reporting parts of Helton Drive
near Cox Creek Parkway are flooded.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Killen, Cherokee,
Littleville, Leighton, St. Florian and Underwood-Petersville.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
