Small Craft Advisory for Hazardous Seas issued April 23 at 3:02PM EDT until April 24 at 5:00AM EDT by NWS Gray ME
The National Weather Service in Gray has issued a Small Craft
Advisory for hazardous seas, which is in effect until 5 AM EDT
Wednesday. The Small Craft Advisory has been cancelled.
* SEAS...4 to 7 feet.
A Small Craft Advisory for hazardous seas means that waves are
expected to be hazardous to small craft. Mariners should avoid
shoaling areas. Long period swell can sharpen into large breaking
waves in shoaling areas. It is not unusual for waves to break
much farther from shoaling areas than is normally experienced.
Remember...breaking waves can easily capsize even larger vessels.

NWS El Paso TX/Santa Teresa NM
Special Weather Statement issued April 23 at 1:12PM MDT by NWS El Paso TX/Santa Teresa NM
1 PM MDT update: Storms have been in progress across portions of
the higher terrain across southwest, and south central New Mexico
in both the Gila region and the Southern Sacramento mountains.
Recently storms are beginning to form across the lowlands of the
Southwestern Deserts of New Mexico and in northern Chihuahua.
These storms will move to the east and north. Current storms are
moderate in strength, but additional storms will develop through
the afternoon with some of those storms becoming strong to severe.
The favored area for the strongest storms are over Dona Ana,
Otero, El Paso, and Hudspeth counties. Storms over these counties
may produce large hail, over an inch in size, and strong wind
gusts, over 60 mph. Thunderstorm development and coverage is
expected to increase rapidly across the region through the
afternoon and early evening hours. Expect scattered storms with
an increase in areal coverage and strength east of the Rio
Grande. If storms approach your location, take shelter and let the
storms pass before going back outdoors.

NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
Flash Flood Watch issued April 23 at 2:38PM CDT until April 25 at 12:00AM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
A slow-moving cold front combined with an approaching storm
system will result in periods of showers and thunderstorms during
the day Wednesday. Repeated rounds of heavy rain are expected to
result in rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches across the watch area
with isolated higher amounts in the 4 to 6 inch range. While
widespread flash flooding is not anticipated, these isolated
higher amounts may produce localized flash flooding. Particular
areas of concern are smaller creeks and streams that respond
faster to heavy rain and low-water crossings.
The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of south central Texas,
including the following areas, Blanco, Burnet, Gillespie,
Hays, Llano, Travis, and Williamson.
* From Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening.
* Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches with isolated higher amounts
in the 4 to 6 inch range.
* The cumulative heavy rainfall totals will not only present an
immediate localized flash flood threat for poor drainage areas,
but also increase flows and water levels of some larger creeks
and streams.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

NWS Brownsville TX
Small Craft Advisory issued April 23 at 2:52PM CDT until April 24 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Brownsville TX
A tight pressure gradient between a surface high pressure over
the north-eastern Gulf and low pressure from the central plains
down into Mexico will result in building seas over the offshore
waters as winds uptick to around 20 knots out of the southeast.
Some slight improvement is possible Wednesday but small craft
exercise caution wording will likely be needed.
The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a Small
Craft Advisory, which is in effect from 7 PM this evening to 7 AM
CDT Wednesday.
* WINDS...Southeast around 20 knots
* WAVES/SEAS...5 to 7 feet
A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 20 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.
Inexperienced mariners...especially those operating smaller
vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.
