NWS Tiyan GU
Fire Weather Watch issued April 24 at 7:53AM ChST until April 24 at 8:00AM ChST by NWS Tiyan GU
An extreme fire danger and lack of rain coupled with stronger
daytime winds will increase the likelihood of fast spreading
wildfires that will be difficult to contain through this evening.
The National Weather Service in Tiyan has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect until 8 PM ChST this evening. A Fire
Weather Watch will then be in effect from this evening through
Thursday evening.
* WIND...Daytime winds are expected to be between 15 and 20 mph with
gusts to 30 mph along the ridges through this evening. Winds will
subside to between 10 and 15 mph overnight.
* HUMIDITY...Daytime humidity as low as 45%
* IMPACTS...Multiple fires have already occurred in the past couple
of weeks and fuels continue to dry. Stronger daytime winds will
increase the likelihood that any fires that develop will spread
rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures will
create ideal conditions for the rapid spread of wildfires.

NWS Albuquerque NM
Flood Advisory issued April 23 at 3:32PM MDT until April 23 at 5:30PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM
The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a
* Arroyo and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Western Lincoln County in central New Mexico...
Southeastern Socorro County in central New Mexico...
* Until 530 PM MDT.
* At 330 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to a slow
moving thunderstorm along Highway 380 between Bingham and
Carrizozo. Rainfall amounts between one and two inches will be
common with this storm. This will cause arroyo and small stream
flooding in the advisory area, potentially impacting Highway 380.
* Flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of western Lincoln and
southeastern Socorro Counties.
The heavy rainfall and slow movement of these storms may result in
flooding of road intersections and low lying areas. Waters may begin
to run in normally dry arroyos.
Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
