NWS Houston/Galveston TX
Flash Flood Warning issued May 7 at 11:37PM CDT until May 8 at 1:30AM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX
The National Weather Service in League City has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southwestern Harris County in southeastern Texas...
* Until 130 AM CDT.
* At 1135 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. This
storm is capable of producing another 1 inch of rain over the next
hour. Some areas in the warning have already had 3 to 5 inches of
rainfall. Additional rainfall will make flooding worse. Flash
flooding is even more dangerous during the night time since you
cannot see how high water is on roads.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Northern Missouri City, Bellaire, West University Place, Hunters
Creek Village, Bunker Hill Village, Piney Point Village, Midtown
Houston, Downtown Houston, Greenway / Upper Kirby Area, Second
Ward, Neartown / Montrose, Greater Eastwood, Memorial Park, Greater
Third Ward, Eldridge / West Oaks, Fourth Ward, University Place,
Spring Valley, Astrodome Area and Macgregor.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
