NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
Flash Flood Watch issued May 8 at 7:31AM CDT until May 8 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
A dryline is forecast to push across the Rio Grande Plains and
Edwards Plateau area today. Ahead of this feature, isolated
thunderstorms with some linear bowing segments could produce
locally heavy rain as it moves to the east across the northern
portions of the Hill Country and Austin metro area. Rainfall
amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible with isolated amounts near 3
inches. Localized flash flooding is anticipated over saturated
areas due to recent heavy rains.
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* A portion of south central Texas, including the following
areas, Blanco, Burnet, Gillespie, Hays, Llano, Travis, and
Williamson.
* Until 7 PM CDT this evening
* Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches with isolated amounts up to
3 inches.
* The cumulative heavy rainfall totals will not only present an
immediate localized flash flood threat for poor drainage
areas, but also increase flows and water levels of some larger
creeks and streams.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

NWS Corpus Christi TX
Coastal Flood Advisory issued May 8 at 7:49AM CDT until May 8 at 6:00PM CDT by NWS Corpus Christi TX
The combination of persistent onshore flow, long period swell,
and high astronomical tide, is expected to raise water levels
along the Middle Texas Coast today. Water is expected to reach
the dunes near the time of high tide and render driving
difficult. Higher water levels are also expected to impact the
intercoastal waterways and bays.
* COASTAL FLOODING...Tide levels are expected to approach 1.3
feet above ground level (2.3 feet above Mean Sea Level) near
the time of high tide today. High Tide at Bob Hall Pier will
occur at 830 AM this morning. High Tide at Port Aransas will
occur at 1152 AM, and High Tide at Port OConnor will occur at
255 PM.
* TIMING...Until 6 PM CDT today.
* IMPACTS...Adverse driving conditions are expected as water
reaches the dunes, mainly during high tide cycle. Some beach
access roads may become impassible. High water levels will also
approach low areas along the intercoastal waterways on the back
side of the barrier islands.
A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
