NWS Albuquerque NM
Winter Weather Advisory issued May 8 at 4:26PM MDT until May 9 at 12:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM
Heavy, wet snow will develop over the Tusas and Sangre de Cristo
and Mountains including Raton Pass this evening. Snow will
persist near Raton Pass through Thursday morning, but periods of
snow will continue across the rest of the Tusas and Sangre de
Cristo Mountains through Friday. Several inches to over 18 inches
of total snowfall is expected, but relatively warm temperatures
and a high liquid water content will result in significant melting
and compaction of the snow from day to day. Actual snow
accumulation should generally remain near and below 10 inches,
except on the highest peaks where larger accumulations are likely
due to colder temperatures.
* WHAT...Snow. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 8 inches above
8000 feet with lighter amounts down to 6000 feet. North winds
gusting as high as 45 mph along and east of Raton Pass tonight.
* WHERE...Raton Ridge and Johnson Mesa, including I-25 over Raton
Pass.
* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to noon MDT Thursday. The heaviest
snow will accumulate tonight with lighter amounts Thursday
morning.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow covered and icy roads will make
travel hazardous. The weight of the snow on leafed out trees may
cause branches to break. Additionally, the strong north winds
will cause near zero visibility at times in blowing snow
tonight.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads
and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
The latest road conditions for New Mexico can be obtained by
calling 5 1 1 or 1-800-432-4269.

NWS Albuquerque NM
Winter Weather Advisory issued May 8 at 4:26PM MDT until May 10 at 6:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM
Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches above
8000 feet with lighter amounts as low as 7000 feet, and heavier
amounts near 18 inches above 9000 feet.
* WHERE...Tusas and Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 PM MDT Friday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult across the
high terrain due to snow covered and icy roads. Visibility will
drop below a quarter mile at times during periods of heavy
snow. Additionally, the weight of the snow on any leafed out
trees may cause branches to break.

There have been several reports of accumulating snow and
spinouts on roadways over parts of central Minnesota early this
evening. Surface observations indicate the rain has turned to
snow, with all snow now expected in these areas for the rest of
the night. At least a few inches are expected overnight, but there
could be a few reports over 5 inches. A Winter Weather Advisory is
in effect until 7 AM Thursday for portions of central and east
central Minnesota.
* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches.
Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of central and east central Minnesota.
* WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Thursday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The
hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads
and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
The latest road conditions for Minnesota can be found at
511mn.org and for Wisconsin at 511wi.gov, or by calling 5 1 1 in
either state.
