NWS Albuquerque NM
Winter Weather Advisory issued May 10 at 11:56AM MDT until May 10 at 6:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM
An unseasonably cold weather system moving across New Mexico
today will allow accumulating snow to continue over the northern
high terrain. Additional snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are
expected today in the high terrain. This cold storm system will
continue crossing New Mexico through the weekend with the
potential for a few more inches of snow in the mountains above
8000 feet through Sunday.
* WHAT...Snow. Additional accumulations of 2 to 4 inches.
* WHERE...West Slopes Sangre de Cristo Mountains, East Slopes
Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Jemez Mountains and San Juan
Mountains.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM MDT this evening.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The
weight of heavy wet snow on tree branches and power lines may
cause localized power outages.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads
and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
The latest road conditions for New Mexico can be obtained by
calling 5 1 1 or 1-800-432-4269.
