NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
Flash Flood Watch issued May 10 at 3:02PM CDT until May 11 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
Periods of scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible
tonight into Saturday. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible.
Portions of the Hill Country, Interstate 35 corridor, and Coastal
Plains are primed for isolated instances of flash flooding due to
heavy rainfall over the past few days and weeks, with saturated
soils and swollen creeks, streams, rivers, and reservoirs. The
flash flood threat will be highly conditional on where rain
develops overnight and later adjustments to the watch area may be
needed should rain develop farther north of the region.
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* A portion of south central Texas, including the following
areas, Atascosa, Bastrop, Bexar, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell,
Comal, De Witt, Fayette, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Hays, Karnes,
Kendall, Lavaca, Lee, Travis, Williamson, and Wilson.
* Through Saturday evening
* Isolated rainfall amounts up to 1 to 2 inches are possible for
the Hill Country, Interstate 35 corridor, including the Austin
and San Antonio metro areas, and the Coastal Plains and this may
create localized instances of flash flooding.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

NWS Houston/Galveston TX
Rip Current Statement issued May 10 at 3:13PM CDT until May 11 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX
A recently long duration southeasterly fetch has produced stronger
rip currents along the upper Texas coastline.
The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a
High Rip Current Risk, which is in effect until 1 AM CDT
Saturday.
* TIMING...Through tonight.
There is a high risk of rip currents. Life threatening rip
currents are likely in the surf zone.
Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore...which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as groins...
jetties and piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards...beach patrol...
flags and signs. Swim near a lifeguard.
If you become caught in a rip current...yell for help. Remain
calm...do not exhaust yourself and stay afloat while waiting for
help. If you have to swim out of a rip current...swim parallel to
shore and back toward the beach when possible. Do not attempt to
swim directly against a rip current as you will tire quickly.

NWS New Orleans LA
Flash Flood Watch issued May 10 at 3:20PM CDT until May 12 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA
A series of large upper level disturbances will be moving over
the Gulf South over the next several days. Another round of storms
are likely to develop and move through later this evening into
Saturday. This pattern will continue through the weekend. Each
feature passage will bring heavy rainfall, that over time, could
accumulate to several inches. As a result, the potential for flash
flooding will be present.
The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for
* Portions of southeast Louisiana and Mississippi, including the
following areas, in southeast Louisiana, Ascension, Assumption,
East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston,
Northern Tangipahoa, Orleans, Pointe Coupee, Southern
Tangipahoa, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John The
Baptist, St. Tammany, Upper Jefferson, Upper Lafourche, Upper
Plaquemines, Upper St. Bernard, Upper Terrebonne, Washington,
West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana. In Mississippi, Amite,
Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River, Pike, Walthall, and
Wilkinson.
* Through Sunday afternoon
* Generally 2 to 4 inches of additional rainfall with locally
higher amounts possible. Rain rates at times may approach 2 to 3
inches per hour.
* Impacts include rapid rises on area small streams and creeks
resulting in flooding on some rivers. Rapid ponding of water
that may overwhelm local drainage capacities due to excessive
rain rates.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Flash Flood Watch issued May 10 at 3:31PM CDT until May 11 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of south central Texas and southeast Texas...
including the following counties...in south central Texas...
Coastal Jackson and Inland Jackson. In southeast Texas...
Austin...Brazoria Islands...Chambers...Coastal Brazoria...
Coastal Galveston...Coastal Harris...Coastal Matagorda...
Colorado...Fort Bend...Galveston Island and Bolivar
Peninsula...Houston...Inland Brazoria...Inland Galveston...
Inland Harris...Inland Matagorda...Matagorda Islands...
Montgomery...Northern Liberty...Polk...San Jacinto...Southern
Liberty...Trinity...Walker...Waller and Wharton.
* Through Saturday evening
* Another round of showers and thunderstorms is anticipated to
develop late tonight into Saturday morning. Rainfall totals of 1
to 3 inches with isolated 5 inch amounts are possible, and if
any of these rains fall on already saturated grounds, more
flash flooding could develop.
* Based on the recent rainfall totals and possible rainfall rates
that we are anticipating during this event, we will be using the
following Flash Flood messaging. Messaging may need to be
scaled up if more extreme rainfall rates occur. Stay Put. Do not
attempt to travel. Underpasses and low-water crossings will be
life- threatening. If caught in a sinking vehicle, get OUT.
Bayous will likely exceed banks and structure flooding could be
possible.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Small Craft Advisory issued May 10 at 3:34PM CDT until May 10 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX
Low Coastal Bend pressure has kept the northeasterly pressure
gradient tight enough to maintain Advisory level winds this
morning. Northeast movement of this low will weaken the gradient
enough to lower advisory winds but maintain a high enough swell
to warrant an afternoon advisory.
* WINDS...15 to near 25 knots.
* WAVES/SEAS...Choppy bay conditions. 4 to 6 foot nearshore
seas...5 to near 8 foot offshore seas.
A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 20 to 33 knots...
and/or seas 7 feet or higher...are expected to produce hazardous
conditions for small craft. Inexperienced boaters...especially
those operating smaller vessels should avoid navigating in these
conditions.

Flood Advisory issued May 10 at 4:37PM EDT until May 10 at 5:30PM EDT by NWS State College PA
The National Weather Service in State College PA has issued a
* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Central York County in south central Pennsylvania...
* Until 530 PM EDT.
* At 435 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rainfall rates from
showers crossing the area. A quick half inch to one inch of rain
is possible in less than 30 minutes in some spots. This will cause
ponding of water on roadways and poor drainage areas.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
York, Weigelstown, Red Lion, Spry, Dallastown, Shiloh, East York,
Stonybrook-Wilshire, West York, Grantley, Tyler Run-Queens Gate,
Hallam, Emigsville, Wrightsville, Dover, North York, Yorklyn,
Jacobus, Windsor and Yoe.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause rises on small
creeks and streams, and possible minor flooding of urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas
and low lying spots.

Coastal Flood Advisory issued May 10 at 3:46PM CDT until May 10 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Corpus Christi TX
..COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY SOUTHERN COASTAL BEND THROUGH EARLY
THIS EVENING...
.Long period swells pushing into the middle Texas coast will
provide a high risk for rip currents along Gulf facing beaches
into this evening. Tide levels remain elevated along the Middle
Texas coast. Coastal flooding will continue until this evening
with water reaching the dunes mainly south of Port Aransas. Use
extreme caution and be aware of the higher risk for life
threatening rip currents.
* COASTAL FLOODING...Tide levels are expected to approach 1.0 feet
above ground level (2.0 feet above Mean Sea Level) in the bays
south of Port Aransas.
* TIMING...Through this evening.
* IMPACTS...Poor driving conditions are expected as water
reaches the dunes, mainly during high tide cycle. Some beach
access roads may become impassible. High water levels will
also approach low areas along the intracoastal waterways and
bays.
A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

* IMPACTS...Strong rip currents are expected along gulf-facing
beaches, especially near piers and jetties. These rip currents
can become life-threatening to anyone entering the surf. Poor
driving conditions are expected as water reaches the dunes,
mainly during high tide cycle. Some beach access roads will be
impassible. High water levels will also approach low areas along
the intracoastal waterways and bays.
Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
