NWS Corpus Christi TX
Coastal Flood Advisory issued May 10 at 7:00PM CDT until May 10 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Corpus Christi TX
..COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY SOUTHERN COASTAL BEND THROUGH THIS
EVENING...
.Long period swells pushing into the middle Texas coast will
provide a high risk for rip currents along Gulf facing beaches
into this evening. Tide levels remain elevated along the Middle
Texas coast. Coastal flooding will continue through this evening
with water reaching the dunes mainly south of Port Aransas. Use
extreme caution and be aware of the higher risk for life
threatening rip currents.
* COASTAL FLOODING...Tide levels are expected to approach 1.0
feet above ground level (2.0 feet above Mean Sea Level) in the
bays south of Port Aransas.
* TIMING...Through this evening.
* IMPACTS...Poor driving conditions are expected as water
reaches the dunes, mainly during high tide cycle. Some beach
access roads may become impassible. High water levels will
also approach low areas along the intracoastal waterways and
bays.
A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
