At 702 AM CDT, the strong thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 11 miles east of Wiggins to 6 miles east of McHenry,
and moving east at 35 mph.
Winds gusts of 35 to 45 mph will be possible with these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Lucedale.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

At 715 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 36 nm east of Boca
Chica Beach, or 38 nm northeast of South Padre Island, moving
northeast at 25 knots.
This is a very dangerous storm!
HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 50 knots and large hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high
winds and hail. Small craft could capsize in suddenly
higher waves.
The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.
Wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, large hail, high waves, dangerous
lightning, and heavy rain are possible with this storm.
Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded

Waters from Port Mansfield TX to the Rio Grande River from 20 to 60
NM...
* Until 815 AM CDT.
* At 724 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 42 nm northeast
of Boca Chica Beach, or 44 nm east of the mouth of the Arroyo
Colorado to Port Mansfield, moving northeast at 40 to 50 knots.
HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots and large hail.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in
structural damage.
* The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
Boaters in the area should go below deck immediately until this
storm passes. Others onshore should stay in port. Wind gusts to 40
knots, large hail, high waves, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain
are possible with this storm.
Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.

* Until 830 AM CDT.
* At 745 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 40 nm northeast of Port Mansfield to 40 nm east of
Boca Chica Beach to 39 nm east of South Padre Island, moving east
at 20 knots.
HAZARD...Wind gusts 40 to 50 knots and large hail.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in
structural damage.
* Severe thunderstorms have clustered across the offshore waters
about 40 nautical miles east of the shoreline. However, multiple
areas of 35 to 50 knot wind gusts are indicated by radar,
including in pockets of the nearshore waters between 10 and 20
nautical miles out mainly east of Cameron and Willacy County.
Gusty winds and possible outflows may continue past 830 AM.
Boaters planning trips offshore should remain in port this morning
until these storms end. Boaters caught in the storms should seek
safety below deck immediately. Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots, large
hail, high waves, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain are possible
with these storms.

late this afternoon.
* Impact...At 25.0 feet...About a 500 ft wide overflow may be expected
across Highway 50, located about 6 miles south of the gage site
around River Park Road. Directly south of the gage expect the low
lying area to be inundated for a few miles. North of the gage,
overflow may be about half mile wide. Expect fields and cropland to
be flooded.

of the road. On the west side of Sedgwick expect W 4th St to be
closed between Emma Creek Rd to Madison Rd. Some streets close to W
4th St and Madison, Ridge Rd area will experience water over the
street curbs. Flood waters will cover parts of Ridge Rd from around
W 4th St southward to 1st St.

of Halstead closes around 27.2 feet.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Tangipahoa River At Osyka.
* Until Sunday May 12.
* At 7:00 AM Saturday the stage was 11.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to near flood stage Sunday
afternoon May 12.
* Impact...At 15.0 feet...Pastures and woodlands along with some crop
land near the river will be inundated.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Forecast crests are based upon rainfall that has occurred along with
anticipated rain for the next 48 hours. Adjustments to the forecasts
will be made if additional heavy rainfall occurs.
Do not drive cars through flooded areas. Remember, two feet of
rushing water can carry away most vehicles including pickups. Turn
around and don't drown!

Tangipahoa River Near Robert affecting Tangipahoa Parish
The Flood Warning continues for
The Tangipahoa River Near Robert.
* Until further notice.
* At 6:30 AM Saturday the stage was 17.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 19.0 feet by
Tuesday evening May 14 then begin falling.
* Impact...At 18.0 feet...Evacuation of trailers at Hidden Oaks must
be completed. Water covers the entrance to camp grounds. Secondary
roads and unimproved roads north of Robert will flood as
Chappepeela Creek backs up. Low places on Highway 22 south of
Robert will be under water.
* Impact...At 17.0 feet...Low places along Highway 22 south of Robert
will be under water. Water will approach the entrance of Hidden
Oaks Campground. Trailers at the camp ground will be unable to be
moved out when the river reaches 18 feet.
* Impact...At 16.0 feet...Minor flooding near the river with beach
areas under water.
* Impact...At 15.0 feet...Minor flooding near the river.
