NWS Houston/Galveston TX
Flood Advisory issued May 11 at 1:53PM CDT until May 11 at 4:15PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX
At 148 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
mainly moderate to occasionally heavy rains across the advisory
area. So far, 1 to 2 inch per hour rates have been observed, but
training of the heaviest activity has been minimal resulting in
mainly nuisance flooding. Area grounds remain saturated, and if any
significant training does materialize, more significant flooding
problems could develop.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Pasadena, Pearland, Sugar Land, Missouri City, Friendswood, Deer
Park, Rosenberg, Alvin, Stafford, South Houston, Bellaire, West
University Place, Richmond, Galena Park, Jacinto City, Webster,
Wharton, Manvel, Hunters Creek Village and Bunker Hill Village.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
