Baldwin Coastal, Mobile Central, and Mobile Coastal. In
northwest Florida, Escambia Coastal, Escambia Inland, Okaloosa
Coastal, Okaloosa Inland, Santa Rosa Coastal, and Santa Rosa

NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
Flash Flood Warning issued June 8 at 5:05AM EDT until June 8 at 8:00AM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
South central Iredell County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...
* Until 800 AM EDT.
* At 503 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Three to five inches of rain
have fallen since 4 AM. Flash flooding is likely occurring or will
begin shortly, especially in poor drainage areas.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Doolie and Mooresville.
Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Do not attempt to cross
water-covered roadways, bridges, or low-level crossings. Only a few
inches of rapidly flowing water can carry away your vehicle. It is
not worth the risk. Please TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding in urban
areas. Storm drains, streams and other drainages will become
overwhelmed by excessive rainfall, flooding low-lying roads,
intersections, and parking lots. Underpasses are especially dangerous
because sudden flood waters can quickly surround and submerge your
vehicle. Stay alert and avoid flood-prone areas.
When it is safe to do so, please report flood waters or landslides
flowing over roads or threatening property to the National Weather
Service by calling toll free, 1, 800, 2 6 7, 8 1 0 1, by posting on
our Facebook page, or via Twitter using hashtag NWSGSP. Your message
should describe the event and the specific location where it
occurred, including roadways, nearby cross streets, stream names and
other landmarks.

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots
and/or steep waves are expected to produce hazardous wave
conditions to small craft. Inexperienced mariners...especially
those operating smaller vessels should avoid navigating in these
conditions.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.
To reduce risk during outdoor work...the occupational safety and

in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by
heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke
is an emergency - call 911.
Each year...a number of fatalities occur nationwide due to
children accidentally being left in vehicles during the summer
months. In the past dozen years...500 children have died due to
hyperthermia after being left in or gaining access to cars. Never
leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle not even for a

NWS Marquette MI
Special Weather Statement issued June 8 at 5:28AM EDT by NWS Marquette MI
A very dry air mass will spread across Upper Michigan today. Under
sunny skies, temperatures will rise into the 80s away from local
cooling along the Great Lakes, and this will result in relative
humidity falling into the 20 to 30 percent range across much of
Upper Michigan. Across interior western Upper Michigan, relative
humidity will fall to around 18 percent. The very warm, dry
conditions combined with south winds gusting to 15 to 20 mph will
lead to elevated wildfire potential this afternoon across Upper
Michigan.
Do not burn today! Immediately report any wildfires to local
emergency services by calling 911.
Burn restrictions are in effect. For complete details, visit
www.dnr.state.mi.us/burnpermits, or by calling 866-922-2876.

NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
Flash Flood Warning issued June 8 at 5:33AM EDT until June 8 at 8:00AM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
At 531 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that the heavy rain was
beginning to gradually move out of the warned area. However, expect
flash flooding to continue, especially in poor drainage areas, as
three to five inches of rain has fallen within the warned area since
4 AM.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...

NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI
Small Craft Advisory issued June 8 at 5:37AM EDT until June 8 at 10:00PM EDT by NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI
High pressure will remain anchored over eastern Canada and into the
Northeast today, with an area of broad low pressure situated over
the Tennessee Valley. The slow approach of the low pressure will
allow for a strengthening pressure gradient and increasing easterly
winds across the local waters. The easterly flow will be strongest
across western Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair, where gusts 20-25 knots
will be common today and continuing into tonight. These winds will
allow for building waves of 2-5 feet in the western Lake Erie basin,
and coupled with the gusty winds around 25 knots, will lead to
hazardous conditions for small craft. Wind gusts will generally be
limited to 15 knots across the Lake Huron nearshore waters, with the
exception being across Saginaw Bay where the flow will back more
northeasterly and gust closer to 20 knots in channeled flow. Winds
will remain moderate heading into Sunday and veer more southeasterly
with the approach of the broad low pressure system from the south.
This system will bring increasing coverage of showers and embedded
thunderstorms late Sunday and especially Sunday night into early
Monday as a cold front approaches from the west. As the cold front
crosses the region Monday, cooler air and gusty northwest flow will
be ushered into the region, with renewed risk of hazardous
conditions for small craft across much of the nearshore waters.
The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a
Small Craft Advisory which is in effect until 10 PM EDT this
evening.
* WIND AND WAVES: During the Small Craft Advisory, expect
sustained winds up to 21 knots from the east with gusts up to
23 knots. The largest expected significant waves will be 4
feet with a potential maximum wave height of 5 feet.
* TIMING: The maximum winds are expected around 8 PM EDT
Saturday with the largest waves expected around 7 PM EDT
Saturday.
Refer to the latest marine forecasts for greater detail.
A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.
Inexperienced mariners...especially those operating smaller
vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.
