NWS Grand Forks ND
Special Weather Statement issued June 8 at 9:28AM CDT by NWS Grand Forks ND
An approaching cold front will bring increasing shower and
thunderstorms chances late this afternoon and evening. However,
before that front comes through, northwestern and west central
Minnesota will see another day of hot and windy conditions.
Afternoon temperatures will climb into the upper 80s and relative
humidity values will fall into the 30 to 40 percent range. South
winds will be strong at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. The
combination of winds and dry conditions will bring a period of
time before storms arrive with near critical fire conditions
where fires could rapidly grow out of control. The near critical
fire weather conditions should ease during the late afternoon and
evening as the rain moves into the area.

NWS Tallahassee FL
Flash Flood Watch issued June 8 at 10:55AM EDT until June 10 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Tallahassee FL
Multiple rounds of slow moving heavy rain will impact primarily
north Florida through the weekend. Two day rain totals are
expected to be around 6-8 inches with isolated locations possibly
receiving up to 10 inches. While widespread flooding is not
expected as soils should absorb much of the rain, more urbanized
locations and areas where training occurs will be susceptible to
flash flooding due to the expected high rain rates.
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* The Panhandle and Big Bend of Florida.
* Through late Sunday night
* Average rain amounts 6-8 inches with isolated locations
possibly receiving up to 10 inches of rain over a two-day
period.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

NWS Blacksburg VA
Flash Flood Watch issued June 8 at 10:57AM EDT until June 9 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA
Several waves of heavy rain producing showers will move across
our region through Sunday. This rainfall will be locally enhanced
by easterly flow into the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge where
an additional 1 to 3 inches of rain could fall in spots. This
could lead to flash flooding especially along smaller creeks and
streams.
The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has expanded the
* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of north central North
Carolina and Virginia, including the following areas, in north
central North Carolina, Rockingham. In Virginia, Franklin,
Henry, Montgomery, and Roanoke.
* Through Sunday evening
* Rainfall averaging one to two inches, with locally higher
amounts, is expected to fall through Sunday. Some of this
rainfall may fall in a relatively short period of time resulting
in flash flooding.
* The heavy rain may prompt creeks and streams to leave their
banks including rapid rises of flowing water in naturally low
areas.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
Remember...TURN AROUND...DON'T DROWN!
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
