NWS Raleigh NC
Flash Flood Warning issued June 8 at 12:11PM EDT until June 8 at 1:45PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC
At 1206 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated nearly stationary
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Two to
four inches of rain has already fallen in this area since 1100 AM.
Flash flooding is likely occurring. Road closures due to high water
have been reported in Franklinton and Youngsville, and roads are
likely water covered in areas in and just east of Rolesville.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Louisburg, Franklinton, Bunn, Rolesville, Youngsville and Pilot.
Additional rainfall amounts of at least one to two inches are
possible in the warned area through 145 PM.
Your life may be at risk if you attempt to drive into areas where
water covers the road. Excessive runoff from the heavy rain will
cause flash flooding of creeks and streams, roads, low lying and
poor drainage areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering
flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

NWS Wakefield VA
Flood Warning issued June 8 at 12:56PM EDT until June 8 at 3:45PM EDT by NWS Wakefield VA
The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a
* Flood Warning for...
Southeastern Brunswick County in south central Virginia...
* Until 345 PM EDT.
* At 1251 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
that heavy rain was falling over the area. The current heavy rain
along with earlier rainfall is causing flooding across warned
area. Use extra caution traveling in the area as local law
enforcement has reported multiple roadways with high water on
them.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Brunswick, Gasburg, Ante, Triplet, Edgerton, Valentines and Lake
Gaston.
Two to four inches of rain has already fallen and additional
rainfall amounts of one to two inches are possible in the warned
area.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
