Lake Wind Advisory issued June 26 at 4:39AM PDT until June 27 at 11:00PM PDT by NWS Las Vegas NV
* WINDS...Sustained winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts over 35 mph.
* TIMING...Breezy south winds are expected after midday today.
After a brief lull in the winds tonight, southerly winds will
increase again Thursday afternoon before diminishing Thursday
night.
* IMPACTS...Boaters in the advisory area should use extreme
caution when venturing onto area lakes. Strong winds over the
open waters will make the lake water rough and hazardous...and
may result in high waves which may tip or swamp smaller craft.
For your personal safety...avoid the open waters. Stay close
to shore or around protected areas.
A Lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
