* HAZARDS...Elevated surf between 3 and 6 feet with local sets to
7 feet across exposed west facing beaches. Strong rip current

NWS Tiyan GU
Special Weather Statement issued December 2 at 1:25PM ChST by NWS Tiyan GU
A TROPICAL DISTURBANCE IN CHUUK STATE...DESIGNATED INVEST AREA
95W... WAS FORMERLY THE SUBJECT OF A TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION ALERT
(TCFA) BY THE JOINT TYPHOON WARNING CENTER. IT HAS WEAKENED AND THE
TCFA HAS BEEN CANCELED.
95W REMAINS A WEAK AND DISORGANIZED SYSTEM AS STRONG VERTICAL WIND
SHEAR HAS DISPLACED DEEP CONVECTION TO THE WEST OF THE NOW-EXPOSED
LOW LEVEL CIRCULATION CENTER. THIS WILL MITIGATE ANY DEVELOPMENT IN
THE NEAR-TERM.
NUMERICAL WEATHER GUIDANCE INDICATES LITTLE SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENT
THE NEXT FEW DAYS AS IT APPROACHES YAP. HOWEVER...SCATTERED TO
NUMEROUS SHOWERS...ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS AND GUSTY WINDS ARE
EXPECTED THROUGH WEDNESDAY ACROSS ISLANDS OF YAP AND WESTERN CHUUK
STATES. THIS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO WOLEAI...SATAWAL...
PULUWAT...ULUL AND FARAULEP.
SEAS AND SURF WILL REMAIN HAZARDOUS A COUPLE MORE DAYS...
THEREFORE...MARINERS SHOULD POSTPONE INTER-ISLAND TRAVEL UNTIL THIS
DISTURBANCE MOVES WEST AND CONDITIONS SUBSIDE. STAY AWAY FROM REEFS
WITH HIGH SURF AND EXPOSED BEACHES. HUGE POUNDING WAVES CAN KNOCK YOU
UNCONSCIOUS AND CAUSE YOU TO DROWN. RIP CURRENTS WILL BE VERY
DANGEROUS.
RESIDENTS ACROSS YAP AND CHUUK SHOULD STAY ALERT WITH THE LATEST
INFORMATION AND LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS FROM THEIR LOCAL EMERGENCY
OFFICIALS. THIS WILL BE THE FINAL STATEMENT ISSUED ON 95W...BUT WILL
BE UPDATED IF SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENT OCCURS.

Special Weather Statement issued December 1 at 9:27PM CST by NWS Quad Cities IA IL
Where the snow has tapered off and ended, patchy light drizzle or
freezing drizzle will occur into the overnight hours. As brisk
north to northwest winds continue to usher in colder temperatures
below freezing, lingering wet surfaces from the rain and snow
earlier may freeze up in spots. This combined with the patchy
freezing drizzle may produce some slippery conditions tonight,
especially on elevated or untreated surfaces. Those traveling
across the area during the overnight hours should use caution and
be prepared for some potential slippery conditions.

NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI
Lakeshore Flood Advisory issued December 1 at 10:38PM EST until December 2 at 10:00PM EST by NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI
The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a
Lakeshore Flood Advisory, which is in effect until 10 PM EST
Monday.
* Lake Shore Flooding...Northeast wind increases to near 20 MPH with
gusts near 30 MPH during the night. This builds high waves and
increases water level along the shoreline of Saginaw Bay and
southern Lake Huron late tonight through Monday evening.
* Impacts...The onshore wind, high waves, and high water level will
worsen shoreline flooding and erosion resulting in damage to
unprotected property.
A Lakeshore Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds will
generate flooding and erosion of low areas along the lakeshore.
* Prepare, plan and stay informed. Visit www.weather.gov/safety

NWS Morristown TN
Winter Storm Warning issued December 1 at 10:46PM EST until December 3 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Morristown TN
...ACCUMULATING SNOW EXPECTED ACROSS PORTIONS OF EAST TENNESSEE
AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT...
.A storm system will produce widespread precipitation across the
southern Appalachians Tonight through Monday night. Temperatures
will be cold enough to produce significant snowfall over the
higher elevations, especially in places above 3000 feet.
Locations across the Cumberland Plateau at or below 3000 feet
will see less snowfall, however still measurable amounts. In
addition to snow, winds are expected to remain breezy in the
mountains which will lead to hazardous driving conditions.
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 9
inches expected with locally higher amounts nearing 12 inches
possible across the highest elevations of the eastern
Appalachian Mountains. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. For Wise
County, VA, total snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches across the
higher elevations. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of east Tennessee and Wise County, VA.
* WHEN...Now through 7 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Blowing snow will cause reduced visibilities
and drifting of snow. Cold temperatures and strong winds will
cause wind chill temperatures to drop into the teens to single
digits.
The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can
be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means significant amounts
of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Travel is
discouraged. If you must travel...keep an extra flashlight...
food...and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
