Beach Hazards Statement issued December 2 at 2:28AM PST until December 2 at 10:00PM PST by NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA
* HAZARDS...Elevated surf between 3 and 6 feet with local sets
to 7 feet across exposed west facing beaches. Strong rip
current activity is possible.
* IMPACTS...There is an increased risk for ocean drowning. Rip
currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large
breaking waves can wash people off beaches and rocks...and
capsize small boats near shore.
A Beach Hazards Statement is issued when threats such as rip
currents...longshore currents...sneaker waves and other hazards
create life-threatening conditions in the surf zone. Swim near a
lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't
swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following
the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or
wave for help.

Rip Current Statement issued December 2 at 5:40AM EST until December 3 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Tampa Bay Ruskin FL
* HIGH SURF...5 to 7 feet.
* HIGH SURF TIMING...Through late tonight.
* HIGH SURF IMPACTS...Wind driven surf will create dangerous rip
currents.
* RIP CURRENT TIMING...Increasing wave action will create rip
currents through Tuesday.
* RIP CURRENT IMPACTS...Strong rip currents will lead to
dangerous swimming conditions at area beaches.
Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore...which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as groins...
jetties and piers. For maximum safety...swim near a lifeguard.
Pay attention to flags and signs.
If you become caught in a rip current...yell for help. Remain
calm...do not exhaust yourself and stay afloat while waiting for
help. If you have to swim out of a rip current...swim parallel to
shore and back toward the beach when possible. Do not attempt to
swim directly against a rip current as you will tire quickly.
A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area...producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.

NWS Corpus Christi TX
Small Craft Advisory issued December 2 at 4:55AM CST until December 2 at 10:00AM CST by NWS Corpus Christi TX
...STRONG WINDS OVER OFFSHORE WATERS THROUGH MID MORNING...
.Strong winds and building seas will persist through mid-morning.
Winds and seas are expected to diminish late this morning through
the afternoon as surface high pressure settles over the region.
* WINDS...North around 20 knots.
* WAVES/SEAS...5 to 7 feet.
A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 20 to 33 knots
and/or seas of 7 feet or greater are expected to produce
hazardous conditions to small craft. Inexperienced mariners...
especially those operating smaller vessels should avoid
navigating in these conditions. Mariners should pay close
attention to the marine forecast...and consider wind and sea
conditions in planning.
