this morning from southern Siskiyou County across Modoc County
into southern Lake County. Snow levels will be between 4,500 and
5,500 feet. Some road surface could refreeze overnight, so beware
of the potential of black ice, especially where roads are
untreated.
* WHAT...Light to moderate snow showers. Additional snow
accumulations of up to 3 inches are expected above 4,500 feet
with the highest accumulations above 5,500 feet. Wind gusts of
20 to 30 mph are expected above an elevation of 6,000 feet.
* WHERE AND WHEN...The Castle Lake area, Mount Shasta Ski Road,
and the Everitt Memorial Highway until 10 AM PST this morning.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The combined effects of recent moderate
snowfall and additional light to moderate wet snow will
continue to result in hazardous conditions through much of the
Winter Weather Advisory period. Untreated roadways are likely
to refreeze tonight. Beware of the potential for black ice.

Skillet Fork River at Wayne City affecting Wayne and White Counties
.Runoff from heavy rainfall over the last few days has forced the
Skillet Fork River at Wayne City into moderate flooding Sunday. The
river crested near 17.5 feet around 830 pm Sunday night and dropped below
moderate flood stage shortly after 330 am this Monday morning. The
river is forecast to fall below minor flood stage by late this afternoon.
The Flood Warning continues for
the Skillet Fork River at Wayne City.
* until this evening.
* At 5:00 AM Monday the stage was 16.8 feet.
* Flood Stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
this afternoon.
* Impact...At 15.0 Feet...Minor flooding occurs affecting mainly
bottomland and surrounding low lying areas.
SAFETY MESSAGE...

Areas of light snow will affect much of the region through 9 AM.
Some of the more concentrated areas of light snow will be focused
along the US 23 corridor from Brighton/Howell to Flint. While
overall accumulations will be light, a half inch or less, with
temperatures hovering around freezing there may be some slick
spots on the roads, especially on bridges and overpasses. Drivers
should use caution this morning.
