NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
Winter Weather Advisory issued December 2 at 11:20AM EST until December 3 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
...ACCUMULATING SNOW SHOWERS AND VERY WINDY CONDITIONS EXPECTED
THROUGH EARLY TUESDAY...
.In the wake of a vigorous cold front, brisk northwesterly winds
and associated moisture will continue to impact the southern
Appalachians today. Numerous to widespread snow showers and very
windy conditions will continue through today and linger into early
Tuesday. Snowfall accumulations will be highly dependent on
elevation and will be most significant on northwest facing slopes,
especially along the Tennessee border. Most valley locations
along the Tennessee border will see storm total snow of less than
3 inches, while valleys away from the Tennessee border will see
little more than a dusting. The higher elevations will see 6 to 12
inches, with a few high ridge locations possibly exceeding 12
inches, especially in the Smokies.
* WHAT...Above 3500 feet, heavy snow continuing. Additional snow
accumulations of 1 to 5 inches possible. Winds gusting as high
as 50 mph. For the Winter Weather Advisory, light snow
continuing. Additional snow accumulations of up to one inch.
Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of western North Carolina.
* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions, mainly in the high
elevations.
If you must travel in the high elevations, keep an extra
flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an
emergency. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
Please report snow and ice accumulations by calling the National
Weather Service toll free at...1...800...2 6 7...8 1 0 1. Leave a
message with your observation and the specific location where it
occurred. You can also post your report to National Weather

Winter Storm Warning issued December 2 at 11:20AM EST until December 3 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC
...ACCUMULATING SNOW SHOWERS AND VERY WINDY CONDITIONS EXPECTED

inches, with a few high ridge locations possibly exceeding 12
inches, especially in the Smokies.
* WHAT...Above 3500 feet, heavy snow continuing. Additional snow
accumulations of 1 to 5 inches possible. Winds gusting as high
as 50 mph. For the Winter Weather Advisory, light snow
continuing. Additional snow accumulations of up to one inch.
Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of western North Carolina.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions, mainly in the high
elevations.
If you must travel in the high elevations, keep an extra
flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an
emergency. Slow down and use caution while traveling.

NWS Upton NY
Coastal Flood Warning issued December 2 at 11:29AM EST until December 2 at 3:00PM EST by NWS Upton NY
...MINOR COASTAL IMPACTS TONIGHT AND MONDAY...
The National Weather Service in New York NY has issued a Coastal
Flood Warning, which is in effect until 3 PM EST this afternoon.
The Coastal Flood Advisory is no longer in effect.
* LOCATIONS...Southwestern Suffolk and Southern Nassau.
* TIMING...Until 3 PM EST this afternoon.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...There is an elevated threat of property
damage. Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas is expected near
the waterfront and shoreline. Expect 2 to 3 feet of inundation
above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. This will
result in numerous road closures and cause widespread flooding
of low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns, and
homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront.
Vehicles parked in vulnerable areas near the waterfront will
likely become flooded. Flooding will also extend inland from the
waterfront along tidal rivers and bays.
* SHORELINE IMPACTS...Breaking waves of 4 to 7 feet will result
in beach flooding and erosion during the times of high tide
today along the Atlantic ocean beachfront. Scattered areas of
dune erosion and localized washovers are possible,
particularly where dune have been compromised by prior storms.
A Coastal Flood Warning means that flooding is expected or
occurring. Coastal residents in the warned area should be alert
for rising water, and take appropriate action to protect life and
property.

NWS Mount Holly NJ
Special Weather Statement issued December 2 at 11:34AM EST by NWS Mount Holly NJ
At 1132 AM EST, an area of heavier snow continues to slowly move
across much of northern New Jersey.
Snowfall rates up to an inch per hour will result in an increase in
accumulations on untreated surfaces and also significantly reduce
the visibility. Remember, bridges and overpasses tend to be colder
and therefore be more slippery.
Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared that untreated roads will quickly become slush to snow
covered during heavier bursts of snow. Slow down and allow extra
time when traveling.
Locations impacted include...
New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Morristown, Somerville, Port Jervis,
Newton, Montague, Mount Pocono, Somerset, Edison, Old Bridge, East
Brunswick, Bridgewater, South Brunswick, Sayreville, North Brunswick,
Carteret, Dover, Madison and Hopatcong.
This includes the following highways...
Garden State Parkway between mile markers 121 and 133.
Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 54.
Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 18 and 42.
Interstate 80 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 47.
Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 308 and 314.
New Jersey Turnpike between exits 9 and 12.
