NWS Riverton WY
Air Quality Alert issued January 19 at 12:39PM MST by NWS Riverton WY
The following message is transmitted at the request of the
Air Quality Division of the Wyoming Department of Environmental
Quality.
The Air Quality Division has issued an Ozone Action Day for
Monday, January 20, 2020 for the Upper Green River Basin Ozone
Nonattainment Area. An Ozone Action Day is issued when forecasted
weather conditions are favorable for the formation of ozone. Ozone
appears to be elevated in the basin when there is a presence of
ozone-forming precursor emissions including oxides of nitrogen and
volatile organic compounds coupled with meteorological conditions
such as strong temperature inversions, low winds, snow cover, and
sunlight.
During the winter ozone season (January-March), everyone should
take actions to reduce precursor emissions and ground-level ozone
formation.
Ozone is an air pollutant that can cause respiratory distress
especially to children, the elderly, and people with existing
respiratory conditions such as asthma. People in these sensitive
groups should limit strenuous or extended outdoor activities,
especially in the afternoon and evening.
For more information on ozone and the health effects of ozone,
please visit the websites for the Wyoming Department of
Environmental Quality at deq.wyoming.gov and the Wyoming
Department of Health at www.health.wyo.gov.
Current information on ozone levels at the Air Quality Division's
monitoring stations at Daniel South, Pinedale, Boulder, Big
Piney, and Juel Spring can be found at www.wyvisnet.com.

NWS Indianapolis IN
Flood Warning issued January 19 at 2:49PM EST until January 19 at 9:40PM EST by NWS Indianapolis IN
...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following waterways
in Indiana...
East Fork White River...Wabash River...White River...
.Minor to moderate flooding continued Sunday afternoon in central
and southern Indiana on the major rivers. Primary crests will
be/are comparable to those that occurred in February and June of
2019. Brief flooding on the Eel River that developed Saturday came
to end early this afternoon.
A mix of precipitation Friday and Saturday totaled as high as
approximately 1.50 inches, which is slowing river falls in some
cases and bringing lower secondary crests in other cases on the
major rivers. Flooding has returned to Seymour on the East Fork
White River, and this afternoon it will return to Spencer on the
White River. The Driftwood River near Edinburgh will be near
bankfull, with a crest near flood stage Sunday morning.
Flooding along the lower portions of the White and Wabash Rivers
will continue until about Wednesday, January 29.
Little or no precipitation is forecast through midday Thursday.
This will give area waterways several days to drain and return to
near normal levels.
The Flood Warning continues for
The East Fork White River at Williams.
* until this evening.
* At 5:00 AM Sunday the stage was 8.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Forecast...It will continue to fall to below flood stage by this
morning.
* At 8.0 feet...Flood stage at Williams. Bottomlands are beginning to
flood. Stumphole road...South Chase Riffle Road and possibly other
rural county roads in Western Lawrence County flood.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.
