At 615 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Fullerton, or 8 miles north of Pitkin, moving east at 20 mph.
Nickel size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
this storm.
Locations impacted include...
Glenmora, Elizabeth, Pitkin, Fort Polk, Fullerton, Cravens,
Calcasieu, Forest Hill, Mcnary and Union Hill.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

At 626 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a gust front along a line
extending from Cloverleaf to near Brookside Village to near
Fairchilds to Wharton. Movement was east at 45 mph.
Gusty winds may be experienced along this gust front, even in the
absence of rain and lightning. The front may also start new
thunderstorms as it travels to the southeast. Any new storms are in
an environment supportive of severe weather.
Locations impacted include...
Pasadena, Pearland, League City, Baytown, southeastern Missouri City,
Texas City, Friendswood, La Porte, Deer Park, Alvin, northern
Angleton, Dickinson, South Houston, La Marque, Santa Fe, Seabrook,

At 653 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from 12 nm northeast of Burnet Bay to
near Upper San Jacinto Bay to 15 nm southwest of Crystal Bay, moving
south at 30 knots.
Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Ohio, southwest Virginia,

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
