* from this afternoon to Wednesday morning.
* At 8:45 AM Saturday the stage was 23.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by this afternoon and continue to
rise to near 30.2 feet by early Monday morning. The river will fall
below flood stage by late Tuesday morning.
* At 28.0 feet...Rural roads are under water.
* At 26.0 feet...Rural land adjacent to the river is flooded.
* At 23.0 feet...Bottomland 1 to 2 miles south of the gage begins to
flood.
Do not drive through flowing water. Nearly half of all flood
fatalities are vehicle related. As little as 6 inches of water may
cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Two feet of water will
carry most vehicles away.This product along with additional weather

At 1015 AM EDT, radar indicated showers were located along a line
extending from near Virginia Beach to near Corapeake to 7 miles north
of Tarboro. Movement was southeast at 25 mph.
Heavy rain is expected with these showers. Wind gusts up to 40 mph
are possible with these showers. Lightning may develop through 11 AM.
These showers will be near...
Virginia Beach and Corapeake around 1020 AM EDT.
Sunbury around 1025 AM EDT.
South Mills and Morgans Corner around 1055 AM EDT.
Elizabeth City and Chapanoke around 1100 AM EDT.
Other locations impacted by these showers include Tunis, Rudee
Heights, Portlock, Kelford, Pierceville, Newsome Store, Savage,
Arrowhead Beach, Chowan Beach and Parkville.
People at Albemarle Medical Center, Chesapeake Regional Medical
Center, Vidant Bertie, and Sentara Princess Anne Hospital should seek
safe shelter immediately!
Motorists should use extra caution in the vicinity of these showers.
Be prepared for rapid changes in weather and road conditions. Heavy
rain could cause ponding of water on roads, and possible minor
flooding of ditches and poor drainage areas.

At 1024 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm,
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was
located over Tarpon Springs, moving south at 15 knots.
Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.
This a strong thunderstorm will likely produce winds in excess of 34
knots, and is likely to pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special
marine warning will likely be required when this nears Tampa Bay.
Boaters should consider heading for shore before the storm arrives.
Intense lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open
water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal
objects.

northwest of Clearwater. Movement was east at 40 mph.
Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Tampa, Spring Hill, Clearwater, Lakeland, Largo, Pinellas Park, Plant
City, Winter Haven, Temple Terrace, Bartow, Seminole, New Port
Richey, Auburndale, Zephyrhills, Brooksville, Dade City, Downtown
Saint Petersburg, Holiday, Fish Hawk and Lutz.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.

the Neches River Near Alto.
* Until further notice.
* At 9:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 16.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 16 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 9:15 AM CDT Saturday was 16.5 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.8 feet
Sunday evening.
* Impact...At 16 feet, Boat ramps and picnic areas near the river
will begin to flood. Ranchers should move cattle and equipment
near the river to higher ground.
Do not drive cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

extending from 12 miles east of Back Bay to near Belvidere to 7 miles
northeast of Robersonville. Movement was east at 45 mph.
Heavy rain is expected with these showers. Wind gusts up to 40 mph
are possible with these showers. Isolated cloud to ground lightning
strikes are possible.

Chapanoke around 1105 AM EDT.
Elizabeth City, Windsor and Nixonton around 1110 AM EDT.
Elizabeth City State University around 1115 AM EDT.
Camden, Weeksville and Whitehall Shores around 1120 AM EDT.
Shiloh and Indiantown around 1125 AM EDT.
Old Trap around 1130 AM EDT.
