THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE IS TRANSMITTED AT THE REQUEST OF THE CITY
OF GRAND PRAIRIE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT.
A LARGE NATURAL GAS FIRE IS IN PROGRESS NEAR MAYFIELD RD AND FORUM
DRIVE IN GRAND PRAIRIE. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS HAVE
REQUESTED THE IMMEDIATE EVACUATION OF ALL RESIDENCES AND
BUSINESSES IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS...
IF YOU LIVE BETWEEN MAYFIELD ROAD AND INTERSTATE 20 AND BETWEEN
HWY 360 AND GREAT SW PARKWAY YOU ARE ADVISED TO EVACUATE
IMMEDIATELY TO THE EAST OR WEST USING EITHER INTERSTATE 20 OR

The Flood Warning continues for
The Mississippi River At Baton Rouge.
* Until Monday May 11.
* At 11:00 AM Saturday the stage was 44.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 35.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
Monday May 11.
* Impact...At 43.0 feet...Shipping and industrial activities are
significantly affected. Unprotected low-lying areas will be flooded
and agricultural operations will be impacted on the west side of
the river. The city of Baton Rouge is protected by levees at this
level.
* Impact...At 40.0 feet...The grounds of the older part of Louisiana
State University's campus become soggy. This includes the area
around the Veterinary Medicine building, the Veterinary Medicine
Annex, the stadium and ball fields. The city of Baton Rouge and the
main LSU campus are protected by levees at this level.
* Impact...At 38.0 feet...River traffic and industrial activity on the
river side of the levees will be greatly affected. Navigational
safety regulations will be strictly enforced.
* Impact...At 36.0 feet...River traffic and industrial activity on the
river side of the levees will be greatly affected. Navigational
safety regulations will be strictly enforced.
* Impact...At 35.0 feet...River islands from Red River Landing
downstream to Baton Rouge will be inundated.
Forecast crests are based upon rainfall that has occurred along with
anticipated rain for the next 24 hours. Adjustments to the forecasts
will be made if additional heavy rainfall occurs.
Do not drive cars through flooded areas. Remember, two feet of
rushing water can carry away most vehicles including pickups. Turn
around and don't drown!

* At 11:00 AM Saturday the stage was 61.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 48.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 61.1 feet by
Saturday April 18. Additional rises may be possible thereafter.
* Impact...At 59.0 feet...The east bank levee will be topped and the
prison farm land between the two levees will be inundated. Angola
Landing will be under water closing the ferry there. All river
islands along the reach from Red River Landing to Baton Rouge will
remain inundated with recreational camps and river bottom farm land
under water.
* Impact...At 58.0 feet...Angola farmland on the left bank becomes
inundated.
* Impact...At 54.0 feet...All river islands along the reach from Red
River Landing to Baton Rouge will be inundated. Recreational camps
and river bottom land will be under water. Water approaches Angola
farm land.
* Impact...At 51.0 feet...All river islands along the reach from Red
River Landing to Baton Rouge will be inundated. Recreational camps
and river bottom farm land will be under water.
* Impact...At 48.0 feet...Access roads will be inundated and
evacuation of all river islands must be complete. Protection of
people and property in the river bottom land on the river side of
the levees must be complete.
* Impact...At 46.0 feet...River traffic will become dangerous. A levee
crevasse would flood adjacent farm land. Significant flooding of
Raccourci Island will continue and evacuation of the island is
recommended.
* Impact...At 45.0 feet...Between the 40 and 45 foot stage flooding of
Raccourci Island becomes significant. At the 45 foot stage
evacuation of the island is recommended.

knots.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly

At 128 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 12 miles northeast of Sebastian Inlet to
Wabasso to 9 miles southwest of Pointe West. Movement was east at 40
mph.
Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Fort Pierce, Sebastian, Vero Beach, Fellsmere and Indian River
Shores.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

* Forecast...The river will rise to near 29.7 feet Thursday April 23.
* At 30.0 feet...In Memphis, the boat landing on the north end of Mud
Island at the mouth of the Wolf River is covered. In Arkansas,
recreational vehicle park south of West Memphis starts to flood.
Dacus Lake Road is flooding north and south of I-40. The river is
against the toe of the levee from the north Shelby County line
south to near Sulcer Road. Water is encroaching the levee near the
south end of Island 40 Chute. The camp near Mound City is flooding.
Water is beginning to flood the settlement near Blue Lake.
The next River Statement will be issued tomorrow or sooner if conditions
warrant.

* until Sunday April 26.
* At 12 PM Saturday the stage was 33.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring AND Minor flooding is forecast.
* Maximum forecast stage of 33.5 feet on Tuesday April 21.
* Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
* The river rose above flood stage Thursday April 16 and will
continue rising to near 33.5 feet by Tuesday April 21. The river
will fall below flood stage Sunday April 26.
* At 34.0 feet...In Tennessee, Barr Road along the Middle Fork of the
Forked Deer River is flooding near the bridge at the south end of
Watkins Road. Water from the north bottom of Lauderdale County is
now flowing over the basin boundary into the south bottomm of
Lauderdale County. In Missouri, large business just north of
Caruthersville is beginning to flood. Many fields adjacent to the
Interstate 155 bridge are flooded.

* Maximum forecast stage of 41.1 feet on Thursday April 23.

* Forecast to rise above flood stage by Wednesday April 22 and
continue to rise to near 41.1 feet by Thursday April 23.The river
will fall below flood stage by Sunday April 26.
* At 41.0 feet...Tunica Cutoff Lake is flooding camp lots and
Riverside Drive in Lakeview Camp. In Arkansas, road to farmstead
inside the levee near the southeast corner of Lee County is
flooded. Water is against the toe of the Arkansas levee in extreme
southern Crittenden County in places and most all the way around
Midway Lake.

* Maximum forecast stage of 13.0 feet on Wednesday April 22.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* At 13.0 feet...Lowland near the river is flooded.

conditions warrant.

.The Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau will be steady this weekend,
then slowly fall next week, going below flood stage next weekend.
The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau.
* until Thursday afternoon.
* At 12:30 PM Saturday the stage was 32.5 feet.
* Flood Stage is 32.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue nearly steady near 32.6 feet this
weekend, ten begin a slow fall. The river will fall below flood stage
next Thursday.
* Impact...At 32.0 Feet...Minor flooding occurs. The Mississippi
River backs into several creeks producing flooding.
SAFETY MESSAGE...
Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

* At 152 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were
tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Port Of
Palm Beach to 8 miles east of Okeelanta to near Rotenberger
Wildlife Refuge. Movement was east at 30 mph.
* Winds in excess of 45 mph and funnel clouds possible with these
storms.
* Locations impacted include...
Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs, West Palm Beach, Pompano Beach,
Sunrise, Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach,
Tamarac, Wellington, Jupiter, Margate, Palm Beach Gardens, Lake
Worth, Riviera Beach, Belle Glade, Lighthouse Point, Palm Beach and
Clewiston.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
This activity was also developing in an environment favorable for the
formation of funnel clouds. Stay tuned to NOAA weather radio and
local media for additional updates and possible warnings.

A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...
Lake Okeechobee...
At 158 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from 13 nm northeast of Buckhead Ridge
to near Lake Harbor to 13 nm southwest of Clewiston, moving east at
35 knots.
Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
Waterspouts are possible with this activity. Remain on the alert in
case warnings are issued for waterspout development.
