Lakeshore Flood Watch issued April 25 at 4:07AM EDT until April 26 at 4:00PM EDT by NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI
* WHAT...Significant lakeshore flooding possible.
* WHERE...Macomb and Wayne Counties.
* WHEN...From this afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Numerous roads may be closed. Low lying property
including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure
may be inundated. Some shoreline erosion may occur.
* Northeast winds of 10 to 15 mph with a few gusts around 20 mph
are expected starting today in the early evening. Elevated
sustained wind speeds will increase slightly and will continue
into Sunday with gust potential increasing to 25 to 30 mph
starting early Sunday morning. Elevated wave action in
combination with the high water levels of Lake St. Clair will
cause water to pile up along the shoreline of Macomb and
northeast Wayne Counties, impacting St. Clair Shores, Grosse
Pointe, and locations south leading into the mouth of the
Detroit River.
* Northeast winds of 10 to 15 mph with a few gusts around 20 mph
are expected starting today in the late afternoon. Elevated
sustained wind speeds will increase slightly and will continue
into Sunday with gust potential increasing to 25 to 30 mph
starting late Saturday night into Sunday morning. Elevated wave
action in combination with the high water levels of Lake Erie
will likely push water levels up to 75 inches above low water
datum on Lake Erie at Gibraltar during the watch period.
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone

NWS Phoenix AZ
Excessive Heat Warning issued April 25 at 1:35AM MST until April 26 at 7:00PM MST by NWS Phoenix AZ
* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures 100 to 107
expected.
* WHERE...Portions of south central Arizona, including the Phoenix
metro.
* WHEN...From 10 AM to 7 PM MST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...High HeatRisk. Overexposure can cause heat cramps
and heat exhaustion to develop and, without intervention, can
lead to heat stroke.
An Excessive Heat Warning means that a period of very hot
temperatures, even by local standards, will occur. Actions should
be taken to lessen the impact of the extreme heat.
Stay indoors and seek air-conditioned buildings. Drink water,
more than usual, and avoid dehydrating alcoholic, sugary, or
caffeinated drinks. Dress for the heat - lightweight and light-
colored clothing. Eat small meals and eat more often. Monitor
those with a higher vulnerability to heat, including small
children. Check in on family, friends, and neighbors, especially
the elderly. If engaging in outdoor activity, take longer and
more frequent breaks and avoid the hottest parts of the day.
Never leave kids or pets unattended in cars.
Public cooling shelters are available in some areas. Consult
county officials for more details, which may include guidance for
proper social distancing measures.
Recognize the signs and symptoms of heat-related illness. Early
signs include thirst and muscle cramps. Heat exhaustion may
include: cool, moist, pale skin; headache; dizziness; weakness or
exhaustion; nausea. The most serious illness is heat stroke,
which may include: vomiting; confusion; throbbing headache;
decreased alertness or loss of consciousness; high body
temperature (above 105F); hot, dry skin; rapid, weak pulse;
rapid, shallow breathing; seizures.
Heat stroke can be DEADLY. Treat as an emergency and call 9 1 1.
Continue to monitor NWS forecasts, broadcast outlets, and local
government for updates.
