The National Weather Service in St. Louis has issued a

the Illinois River at Hardin
* from this afternoon until further notice.
* At 8:30 AM Saturday the stage was 24.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by late this
afternoon and continue to crest near 26.5 feet by Monday evening.
* Impact: At 25.0 feet...Flood Stage. Lowland flooding of
unprotected agricultural land begins.
Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as

At 1009 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm,
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was
located 10 nm west of Marco Island, moving southeast at 10 knots.
Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.
Waterspouts are possible with this activity. Remain on the alert in
case warnings are issued for waterspout development.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Apalachicola River near Blountstown.
* Until further notice.
* At 8:15 AM Saturday the stage was 22.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Forecast: The river will continue to fall to a stage of 22.0 feet
by tomorrow morning.
* Impact: At 23.0 feet: Water crosses the low water crossing on
Parrish Lake East 3 miles before the end of the road in Calhoun
County.
All persons with interest along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property. Do not drive cars through flooded areas. If you
see flood waters: Turn around. Don't drown.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Chipola River at Marianna (US 90).
* From Tuesday morning, or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 9:00 AM Saturday the stage was 9.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast: Rise above flood stage by Tuesday morning and continue to
rise to near 21.2 feet by early Thursday morning.
* Impact: At 21.0 feet: Extensive flooding occurs in the Citizens
Lodge Park. Water begins to approach the lodge.
All persons with interest along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property. Do not drive cars through flooded areas. If you
see flood waters: Turn around. Don't drown.

* From Sunday morning, or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 9:45 AM Saturday the stage was 23.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
* Forecast: Rise above flood stage by tomorrow morning and continue
to rise to near 26.1 feet by tomorrow morning. The river will fall
below flood stage by tomorrow early afternoon.
* Impact: At 26.0 feet: Minor flooding begins.
All persons with interest along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property. Do not drive cars through flooded areas. If you

* Forecast: Rise above flood stage by tomorrow late evening and
continue to rise to near 25.1 feet by early Tuesday morning. The
river will fall below flood stage by Wednesday morning.
* Impact: At 24.0 feet: Minor lowland flooding begins.

* Forecast: Rise above flood stage by tomorrow afternoon and continue
to rise to near 26.6 feet by Tuesday evening.
* Impact: At 27.0 feet: Flooding begins to expand across the Boat
Basin area of the east bank of the river in Bainbridge. Many of the
docks and parking areas near the Flint River begin to become
inaccessible above this level. North of Bainbridge, water will
cross Rivervale Drive, isolated several residences in the Rivervale
Subdivision.
All persons with interest along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property. Do not drive cars through flooded areas. If you
see flood waters: Turn around. Don't drown.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 21.0 feet by
Saturday May 2nd.
* Impact...At 21.0 feet...Woodlands and crop acreage along the river
will be flooded. The Bogue Chitto Wildlife Management area will be
inundated with water in recreational camps and over access roads.
At 21 feet, property east of Louisiana Highway 21 along Bogalusa
Creek will begin to flood.

* Moderate to heavy rainfall will result in flooding of low
lying or poor drainage areas, including flooding on smaller

The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Hannibal
* until Friday evening.
* At 9:15 AM Saturday the stage was 17.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to crest near 18.0 feet by this evening, then
fall below flood stage Thursday early afternoon.
* Impact: At 18.0 feet...The northern end of Southside Recreation #2
Park along Bear Creek begins flooding at this height. Gate wells
are shut down to prevent the sewers from backing up. Also at this
level pumps are set to standby.
Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even
higher than predicted. The National Weather Service will monitor
this developing situation and issue follow up statements as
conditions or forecasts change.
Safety message: Never drive cars, trucks, or sport utility vehicles
through flooded areas. The water may be too deep to allow for safe
passage.

* At 9:45 AM Saturday the stage was 11.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage tonight and will
continue to rise to near 15.0 feet tomorrow evening.
Do not drive or walk through areas where water covers roadway! The
water may be deeper than it appears. Remember...Turn around, don't
drown!
