possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.

Special Weather Statement issued June 2 at 4:54AM MDT by NWS Rapid City SD
At 454 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Lodgepole, or 12 miles south of Hettinger, moving east at 35 mph.
Nickel size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with
this storm.
Locations impacted include...
Lemmon, Lodgepole, White Butte, Shadehill and Shadehill Reservoir.

* WHAT...High temperatures of 102 to 106 degrees likely.
* WHERE...West Side Hills.
* WHEN...From 2 PM to 7 PM PDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses, such as heat exhaustion and
heat stroke, are possible for some people, especially those
without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
