Special Weather Statement issued June 11 at 12:09AM EDT by NWS Buffalo NY
At 1207 AM EDT, strong thunderstorms were clustered over Depew,
moving east at 45 mph.
Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with these storms. Of greater
concern will be a period of heavy rain that will likely cause some
underpass flooding as well as ponding on area roadways. Doppler

and midnight with another half inch possible. The greatest impacts
from the heavy rain will be in the Buffalo metro area.
Locations impacted include...
Buffalo, Cheektowaga, West Seneca, Clarence, Lackawanna, Kenmore,
Depew, Tonawanda, Amherst, Lancaster, Williamsville, Elma, Small Boat
Harbor, Blasdell, Elma Center, Woodlawn Beach State Park and Clarence
Center.
This includes Interstate 90 between exits 56 and 49.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They can relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Buffalo.

At 1222 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated up
to two inches of rain has already fallen. Another round of showers
and thunderstorms is quickly approaching the region from the
southwest. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Mount Pocono, Tobyhanna, Blakeslee, Long Pond, Pocono Pines, Pocono
Raceway, Gouldsboro State Park, Skytop, Arrowhead Lake, Canadensis
and Mountainhome.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 287 and 296.
Interstate 380 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 1 and 13.
Additional rainfall of one to two inches is expected over the area.
This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
Protecting yourself from immediate threats to life and safety shall
take priority. Whenever possible, as long as it does not cause
greater harm, all COVID-19 protective action guidance should be
followed.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

NWS Fairbanks AK
Special Weather Statement issued June 10 at 8:45PM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK
Several slow moving thunderstorms are causing heavy rain, and
small hail in the Denali area this evening. A weather spotter in
McKinley Village reports heavy rain, hail and near continuous
lightning lasting for over 40 minutes. The spotter reports that
the ground is covered with over 1/2 inch of accumulated hail.
Sections of Denali Park have also had thunderstorms that could be
causing similar conditions.
This heavy rain will cause some small streams in the Denali area
to rise rapidly this evening. This could also cause debris flows
with rocks and mud sliding on the Parks Highway south of Healy,
and along the Denali Park Road.
People in Denali Park and along the Parks Highway south of Healy
should be alert for thunderstorms causing heavy rain this evening,
and for rapid rises on some small streams along with the possibility
of debris flows.
Small streams should fall Thursday morning.
