NORTHEAST PLAINS DUE TO STRONG WIND AND LOW HUMIDITY...
.A deep surface trough in the lee of the Sangre de Cristo
Mountains will cause southwest winds to gust up to 40 mph across
the northeast plains this afternoon and early evening. Humidities
will be marginally critical with a few places near the Canadian
River reaching as low as 14 percent. Mainly isolated thunderstorms
with small wetting footprints will move over western and northern
parts of the northeast plains this afternoon. Erratic wind gusts
up to 50 mph will be possible near stronger storms.
The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag
Warning...which is in effect from noon today to 8 PM MDT this
evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* AREA AND TIMING...Northeast Plains this afternoon and early
evening.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
Erratic wind gusts up to 50 mph near thunderstorms in the
afternoon and early evening.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values between 20-15 percent, except
as low as 14 percent in the Canadian River Valley.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* At 608 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing
waterspouts were located along a line extending from 7 nm east of
Triumph Reef to Carysfort Reef Light. The severe thunderstorms were
nearly stationary.
HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
higher winds and suddenly higher waves.
