At 259 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11
miles southwest of Franklin, or 6 miles southeast of Nantahala Lake,
moving southeast at 10 mph.
Locations to be impacted include...
Otto, Rainbow Springs and Wayah Bald.
Wind gusts up to 40 mph and dime-size hail will be possible in these
areas.
Dime to nickel size hail can cause considerable damage to vehicles.
Consider moving vehicles to a covered storage area before the storm
arrives.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio and tv
stations, as well as local cable tv outlets for additional
information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

Southwestern Fayette County in southeastern West Virginia...
* Until 700 PM EDT.
* At 300 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Fayetteville, Oak Hill, Mount Hope and Pax.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

At 315 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles northwest of Marshall, or near Hot Springs, moving southeast at
10 mph.
Locations to be impacted include...
Marshall, Hot Springs, Spring Creek, Walnut and Luck.
Wind gusts up to 40 mph and dime size hail will be possible in these
areas.
Dime to nickel size hail can cause considerable damage to vehicles.
Consider moving vehicles to a covered storage area before the storm
arrives.
Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage, such as
ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded
roads. Water levels of small streams may also rise rapidly. Seek
higher ground if threatened by flood waters.

At 325 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm with
intense lightning 11 miles southeast of Sylva, or 4 miles northeast
of Lake Glenville, moving southeast at 10 mph.
Locations to be impacted include...
Cashiers, Lake Glenville, Cullowhee, Wolf Mountain, Whiteside
Mountain and Tuckasegee.
In addition to intense lightning, wind gusts up to 40 mph, half inch
hail and very heavy rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will be
possible in these areas.
Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage, such as
ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded
roads. Water levels of small streams may also rise rapidly. Seek
higher ground if threatened by flood waters.
Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If outdoors, try to
get indoors or into a hard topped vehicle. Otherwise, stay away from
open areas and isolated high objects such as trees. When indoors,
stay away from windows and doors and avoid using wired electronic
devices. Do not take a shower or bath. Try to unplug unnecessary
appliances before the storm approaches.

* At 336 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were
tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles
southwest of Miccosukee Indian Reservation to 9 miles south of Big
Cypress National Preserve to near Chokoloskee. Movement was east at
15 mph.
* Small hail, funnel clouds, and winds in excess of 45 mph possible
with these storms.
* Locations impacted include...
Chokoloskee, Wilderness Waterway, Loop Road Ee Center, Intersection
Alligator Alley And Miami Canal, Big Cypress National Preserve,
Dade-Collier Training Airport, Fortymile Bend, Miccosukee Indian
Reservation, Miccosukee Service Plaza and West Broward Rec. Area On
Alligator Alley.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
This activity was also developing in an environment favorable for the

At 337 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms produced heavy
rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have
fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
There were reports of landslides, heavy debris and water blocking
route 16 in the Squire and Canebreak Mountain areas. The heaviest of
the rain is over.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Doppler radar.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
mainly rural areas of South Central McDowell County
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Significant lakeshore flooding.
* WHERE...Erie, Sandusky, Lucas and Ottawa Counties.
* WHEN...Until 10 PM EDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Numerous roads closed and low lying property
including parking lots, lawns, and homes and businesses will
be inundated near the lake. Some shoreline erosion will occur.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...At 3:30 PM, the water level at Toledo was
73.8 inches above low water datum and Marblehead was 69.1 inches
above low water datum. Winds will continue from the northeast at
15 to 25 knots through this evening. Water levels will persist
between 70 and 80 inches through this evening before falling
below 70 inches later tonight.
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
