amounts of 2 to 7 inches have have fallen across the area over the
last several hours.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Beatrice, Wilber, Hickman, Wymore, Bennet, Firth, Palmyra, De Witt,
Cortland, Sterling, Plymouth, Blue Springs, Unadilla, Odell,
Diller, Panama, Clatonia, Hallam, Pickrell and Douglas.
Additional rainfall of an inch could over the area through early
Friday morning. This additional rain may result in minor flooding.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a
* Significant Weather Advisory for...
Southeastern McPherson County in central Kansas...
Central Marion County in central Kansas...
Northwestern Chase County in east central Kansas...
* Until 100 AM CDT.
* At 1150 PM CDT...National Weather Service Doppler radar was
tracking strong thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall along a
line extending from near Lincolnville to near Galva...and moving
east at 20 mph.
* Hail up to the size of dimes...and wind gusts up to 40 mph will be
possible with these storms.
* Locations impacted include...
Mcpherson, Hillsboro, Marion, Galva, Canton, Goessel, Lincolnville,
Lehigh, Durham, Lost Springs, Hymer, Marion Lake, Pilsen and
Tallgrass Prairie Preserve.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
These storms may produce ponding of water on roadways. Listen for
later statements or possible flood warnings...should the risk for
minor low-land flooding become more imminent.

At 1056 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 10 miles south of Thatcher to 16 miles north of
Branson to 10 miles west of Trinchera. Movement was east at 15 mph.
Penny size hail and wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph will be possible with
these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Tyrone, Model and Trinchera.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with these
storms.
Locations impacted include...
Pratt, Stafford, Iuka, Preston, Cullison, Cairo, Neola and Zenith.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

At 1257 AM EDT...a strong thunderstorm was over Santa Claus, or near
Lyons. This storm was nearly stationary.
HAZARD...Winds 40 to 50 mph...nickel sized hail...frequent
lightning and heavy rain.
IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
light...unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary
street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.
Some locations in the path of this storm include
Lyons, Vidalia, Santa Claus and Ponderosa.
People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder...you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Motorists
should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to
hydroplaning.
