Minor flooding is occurring along the Lower Roanoke River. The river
is expected to remain in flood through Saturday.
The Flood Warning continues for
the Roanoke (Staunton) River At Brookneal.
* until Saturday afternoon.
* at 07AM Friday the stage was 23.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* The river has crested, but will remain above flood stage through Satuday.
The river will fall below flood stage after midnight Saturday night.
* Impact...at 23.0 feet...Low-lying fields and woods are flooded.
* Flood history...this crest compares to a previous crest of 24.2
feet on Apr 14 2020.
Do not drive through flooded areas...the water may be much deeper
than you think.

At 744 AM CDT, strong thunderstorms were clustered near Keosauqua
to Memphis, moving east at 15 mph.
Pea size hail is possible with this storm.
Locations impacted include...
Kahoka, Memphis, Keosauqua, Bonaparte, Wyaconda, Cantril, Luray,
Granger, Bentonsport/Vernon, Farmington, Arbela, Mount Sterling,
Mount Zion, Chambersburg, Ashton, Heath Memorial Conservation Area,
Indian Lake Park, Prospect Grove, Lake Sugema Campground and Scotland
County Fairgrounds.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm. Minor flooding
of low lying areas, creeks, streams and urban areas is possible. If
you encounter water over a roadway, do not drive through it.
