Flash Flood Warning issued June 23 at 11:28PM EDT until June 24 at 12:30AM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 1124 PM EDT, law enforcement and citizen reports indicate that
flooding is occurring near Muir and Tower City. Up to three inches
of rain fell in that area. Flash flooding is occurring. The rain is
moving to the east, and there should not be enough additional
rainfall to worsen the flooding.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.
SOURCE...Law enforcement and citizen reports.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage
and low lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Muir, Tower City, Orwin, Pine Grove, Buck Run, Fort Indiantown Gap,
Penn National Race Course, Dehart Dam, Jonestown, Hegins, Ravine,
and Williamstown.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

NWS Hanford CA
Heat Advisory issued June 23 at 8:50PM PDT until June 27 at 8:00PM PDT by NWS Hanford CA
* WHAT...A prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures will
occur. In the San Joaquin Valley, high temperatures of 101 to
106 degrees each afternoon through Saturday. In the Sierra
Nevada foothills, high temperatures of 96 to 106 degrees each
afternoon through Saturday.
* WHERE...San Joaquin Valley and Sierra Nevada foothills.
* WHEN...Valid until 8 PM PDT Saturday evening.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses, such as heat exhaustion and
heat stroke, are possible for most people, especially those
without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rivers and streams in Central California
are cold and swift. Brief exposure to the cold water of a
river or stream may lead to hypothermia. Rivers and streams
are dangerous places to seek cooling relief from the heat.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and remain in an air-
conditioned room. Never leave young children, disabled or
elderly adults, or pets in unattended vehicles. During hot
weather, car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter
of minutes.
Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
If you must work outdoors, the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool, shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
