NWS Buffalo NY
Special Weather Statement issued November 17 at 5:07AM EST by NWS Buffalo NY
Lake effect rain and snow will continue inland from Lake Erie
this morning. Mainly rain will occur near the Lake Erie
shoreline, transitioning to snow over higher terrain.
Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches will occur
through 8 am. While the most notable accumulations will be on
grassy and elevated surfaces, untreated roads will be slush
covered and slick. Motorists should allow extra time to reach
their destination this morning.
This includes the 219 from Ellicottville to North Boston.
Since mainly rain is expected at lower elevations closer to the
Lake Erie shoreline, the New York State Thruway will experience
just wet surfaces this morning.
