Special Weather Statement issued November 17 at 9:00AM EST by NWS Cleveland OH
Lake effect snow will continue across portions of Northeast Ohio
and Northwest Pennsylvania this morning. Some heavier bursts of
lake effect snow could reduce visibilities to a half mile or less
with a quick snow accumulation of a half inch to an inch.
Any higher snow amounts will be confined to grassy and elevated
surfaces. Motorists should continue to allow extra time to reach
their destination this morning.

areas. Homes off River Road may become isolated by flood waters.
Water may also affect yards off Planetarium Road and fields off
deep Branch Road. East of Lumberton, the lowest homes in the Pines
area may be flooded and homes may be surrounded by water in the
Pines area and between the Pepsi plant and the river. Chickenfoot
Road, Noir Street and Hestertown Road may be impassable.

the Cape Fear River At Elizabethtown.
* Until Wednesday evening.
* There is no current observed data.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late
tomorrow morning and continue falling to 19.0 feet Sunday morning.
* Impact...At 30.0 feet, Flood waters may isolate residences off
Larrimore Lane and Riverview Drive as Larrimore Lane becomes
impassable. Dozens of buildings nearer the river may become
isolated within several miles of Elizabethtown. Flooding may also
affect Beagle Run Lane. Flooding of farm fields near the river
worsens as does lowland flooding.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

the Contentnea Creek At Grifton.
* Until further notice.
* The river gauge in Grifton is still non-operational. However,
flooding in the area is inferred based on observations upstream in
Hookerton.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* The extent of expected flooding in the area is unknown due to lack
of data.
* Forecast...The creek will continue to rise over the next few days.
Later in the week, flooding may worsen due to backwater effects
from the Neuse River.
* Impact...At 16.0 feet, Water approaches homes in Tick Bite, and
also along Water Street in Grifton. Portions of Tick Bite Road,
Creekshore Drive, and Lenoir Street are covered by floodwaters.
* Impact...At 19.0 feet, Water surrounds several homes in Tick Bite,
and along Water Street in Grifton. Tick Bite Road is impassable in
spots, as well as Creekshore Drive, Water Street, and Martin
Luther King Drive.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

The National Weather Service in Miami has extended the

East Central Palm Beach County in southeastern Florida...
* Until 1030 AM EST.
* At 917 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Lake Worth, Palm Beach,
Highland Beach, Ocean Ridge, Greenacres, Lantana, Atlantis,
Village Of Golf, Dunes Road, Hypoluxo, South Palm Beach, Gulf
Stream, Briny Breezes, Manalapan, Seminole Manor and Lake Worth
Corridor.
Additional rainfall is gradually dissipating across the area but it
will take a little longer for rainfall to drain.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or
ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small

* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 9:00 AM EST Tuesday was 19.9 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early
Sunday morning and continue falling to 12.3 feet Sunday morning.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet, Water floods several homes near the river.
Water overflows into the town commons and adjacent areas in the
city of Greenville. Many acres of farmland flooded.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

* Impact...At 21.0 feet, Water threatens homes on Van Ness Avenue,
Fairmount Avenue, and Embarcadero Avenue. Significant inundation
of Ironwood Golf and Country Club. Old River Road floods between
HWY 222 and HWY 33. Old River Road may also be flooded further to
the east at Johnson Mill Run. Water may threaten homes along Old
Fort Road.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

the Lower Roanoke River Near Scotland Neck.
* Until further notice.
* At 9:00 AM EST Tuesday the stage was 28.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 28.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 9:00 AM EST Tuesday was 28.2 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 30.0 feet
Thursday evening.
* Impact...At 28.0 feet, Minor flooding begins, especially on the
left bank.
* Impact...At 31.0 feet, There is widespread flooding on the left
banks.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 29.9
feet on 05/07/2017.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

timberlands adjacent to the river in Roanoke Rapids flood.
Property on the farmlands may be at risk from floodwaters.
* Impact...At 10.0 feet, The public boat ramp on Rockfish Ln in
Weldon is flooded.
