NWS Reno NV
Flash Flood Watch issued November 17 at 10:01AM PST until November 18 at 4:00AM PST by NWS Reno NV
The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of northeast California, including
the following area, Lassen-Eastern Plumas-Eastern Sierra Counties.
* From 4 PM PST this afternoon through late tonight
* A period of heavier rain is expected on the Hog, Sheep, and Walker
fires later this afternoon into tonight. This will bring an
increased risk for flash flooding to the south and west of
Susanville as well as along Indian Creek including the Genesee area.
* Some areas at risk for flash flooding include portions of the Biz
Johnson Trail and near the confluence of Willard Creek and the
Susan River, communities near Wingfield and Richmond to the south
of Susanville, and the Beckwourth-Genesee Road.
People in the watch area should be aware of the possibility for
heavy rainfall and avoid low lying areas. Be alert for sudden rises
in water or mud or debris flows. Do not
drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the road. The
road may be washed out or the water depth may be too great to
allow your car to cross safely.
