NWS Medford OR
Air Stagnation Advisory issued November 22 at 12:01AM PST until November 22 at 1:00PM PST by NWS Medford OR
* WHAT...High pressure over the area is resulting in light
winds, a strong inversion, and limited mixing. These
conditions are expected to persist through Sunday morning
leading to the potential for diminishing air quality.
* WHERE...This includes the Umpqua Basin, Camas Valley, Illinois
Valley, Rogue Valley, Applegate Valley, as well as valley
locations in Klamath and Lake Counties.
* WHEN...Until 1 PM PST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Air stagnation is likely to result in diminishing
air quality with time, especially in and near areas with
significant sources of air pollution. Diminished air quality
is likely to cause health issues for people with respiratory
problems if precautions are not taken.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Air is likely to be most stagnate through
Sunday morning.
* View the hazard area in detail at
https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mfr/HAZARD
People with respiratory illness should follow their physician's
advice for dealing with diminished air quality. N95 masks are
effective at filtering out the majority of harmful air
particulates.
State air quality agencies highly recommend that no outdoor
burning occur and that residential wood burning devices be
limited as much as possible. According to state air quality
agencies, prolonged periods of stagnant air can hold pollutants
close to the ground where people live and breathe. Check with
your local burn agency for any current restrictions in your area.

NWS Medford OR
Air Stagnation Advisory issued November 22 at 12:01AM PST until November 22 at 1:00PM PST by NWS Medford OR
* WHAT...For the Dense Fog and Freezing Fog Advisories: visibility
will be less than a quarter of a mile in dense fog with dense
freezing fog expected in areas with temperatures below 32
degrees. For the Air Stagnation Advisory, light winds and
limited mixing will allow for diminished air quality.
* WHERE...For the Dense Fog Advisory and Air Stagnation Advisory:
the valleys of Douglas County, including Roseburg, Glide,
Sutherlin, Canyonville, Myrtle Creek, and Elkton as well as
Interstate 5 in these portions. For the freezing fog advisory,
this is mainly across Interstate 5 from Canyon Mountain through
Sexton Mountain Pass, including Wolf Creek.
* WHEN...For the Air Stagnation Advisory, until 1 PM PST Sunday.
For the Dense Fog Advisory, until 8 AM PST Sunday. For the
Freezing Fog Advisory, until 8 AM PST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility
and potential frost on bridges. Poor air quality may cause
issues for people with respiratory problems.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Visibility may briefly raise above a
quarter of a mile at times, with patchy areas quickly dropping
below a quarter of a mile. Be prepared for rapid changes in
visibility. Some portions of the Douglas County valleys may also
see freezing fog for brief periods as temperatures may drop
below 32 degrees F.
* View the hazard area in detail at
https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mfr/HAZARD
If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of
distance ahead of you. Also, be alert for frost on bridge decks
causing slippery roads.
People with respiratory illness should follow their physician's
advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution during
periods of stagnant air.

NWS Melbourne FL
Rip Current Statement issued November 22 at 3:09AM EST until November 22 at 9:00PM EST by NWS Melbourne FL
* WHAT...Life-threatening rip currents will continue to occur
along the east central Florida beaches. Rough surf will also
be present today.
* WHERE...Along the Central Florida Atlantic coast, including
Volusia, Brevard, Indian River, Saint Lucie and Martin
Counties.
* WHEN...Through this evening.
* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water. Entering the surf is not advised
today.
Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in the
sandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties and
piers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags and
signs.
Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
