The Flood Warning continues for
the Lower Roanoke River Near Scotland Neck.
* Until Wednesday evening.
* At 5:00 AM EST Sunday the stage was 29.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 28.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 5:00 AM EST Sunday was 30.1 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 30.0 feet
early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late
Wednesday morning.
* Impact...At 28.0 feet, Minor flooding begins, especially on the
left bank.
* Impact...At 31.0 feet, There is widespread flooding on the left
banks.
* Impact...At 32.0 feet, The boat ramp and parking lot at Edwards
Ferry Boat Access are inundated.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 29.9
feet on 05/07/2017.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Wednesday morning and continue falling to 8.5 feet Thursday
evening.
* Impact...At 9.0 feet, Minor flooding begins. Farmlands and
timberlands adjacent to the river in Roanoke Rapids flood.
Property on the farmlands may be at risk from floodwaters.
* Impact...At 10.0 feet, The public boat ramp on Rockfish Ln in
Weldon is flooded.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 11.6
feet on 09/12/1996.
