NWS Juneau AK
Flood Watch issued November 29 at 3:24PM AKST until December 3 at 3:00AM AKST by NWS Juneau AK
The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued a
* Flood Watch for Eastern Gulf Coast...Central Inner Channels AND
Northern Inner Channels...Including the following
AREAS...Skagway, Haines, Gustavus, Sitka, Hoonah, Angoon,
Juneau, Petersburg, and Wrangell.
* From late Monday night through late Wednesday night.
* A strong storm will impact the panhandle producing heavy
rainfall rates along with significant snowmelt. 48 hour
rainfall totals are expected to range from 5 to 10 inches.
* There is increasing confidence that flooding of small streams
and creeks will occur along with potential risk of debris flows
near steep terrain in prone areas.
A watch means conditions are favorable for the development of
flooding in and close to the watch area.
Persons living along streams should stay alert and be prepared to
take action if a warning or advisory is issued, or flooding is
observed.
