NWS Albuquerque NM
Special Weather Statement issued November 30 at 3:26PM MST by NWS Albuquerque NM
A storm system will bring unsettled weather conditions from the
Sangre de Cristo Mountains eastward to the Oklahoma and Texas
borders Tuesday afternoon through early Wednesday.
Temperatures are expected to turn much colder across eastern New
Mexico Tuesday behind a strong cold front. Northerly winds of 20
to 30 mph with gusts near 45 or 50 mph are likely behind the front
which will make it feel like temperatures are in the single digits
or teens Tuesday night. Light snow is expected to develop along
the Sangre de Cristo Mountains late Tuesday afternoon, and this
snow may expand eastward to the Oklahoma and Texas borders
overnight. Though only an inch or two of snow accumulation is
expected, the strong winds will result in areas of blowing snow
and reduced visibility. If there are any periods of heavier
snowfall, snow may accumulate on roadways causing slick
conditions.
If you have travel plans on Tuesday or Tuesday night, monitor
NOAA weather radio, weather.gov/abq or your local media for the
latest updates on this changing weather situation.

If possible, reduce or eliminate activities that contribute to
air pollution, such as outdoor burning, and the use of
residential wood burning devices. Reduce vehicle trips and

Air Stagnation Advisory issued November 30 at 2:47PM PST until December 5 at 10:00AM PST by NWS Medford OR
* WHAT...Increased chances for diminished air quality.
* WHERE...Klamath Basin to include Klamath Falls and Altamont.
* WHEN...From 10 PM Tuesday to 10 AM PST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Air stagnation is likely to result in diminishing
air quality with time, especially in and near areas with
significant sources of air pollution. Diminished air quality
is likely to cause health issues for people with respiratory
problems if precautions are not taken.
* View the hazard area in detail at
https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mfr/HAZARD
People with respiratory illness should follow their physician's
advice for dealing with diminished air quality. N95 masks are
effective at filtering out the majority of harmful air
particulates.
State air quality agencies highly recommend that no outdoor
burning occur and that residential wood burning devices be
limited as much as possible. According to state air quality
agencies, prolonged periods of stagnant air can hold pollutants
close to the ground where people live and breathe. Check with
your local burn agency for any current restrictions in your area.
